Bike rack?

Can anyone recommend a rear-mount bicycle rack that works well on a thirdgen? I can make one "kinda" fit, but ideally I need one that correctly fits the hatch and is somewhat stable, isn't likely to damage the car or the bikes, etc...

(Mods, sorry if this isn't the right forum - maybe there's not a right forum for this question. If that's the case, please delete.)

Thanks!

Re: Bike rack?

This is about as good as one as there would be for that subject. I hope you get an answer. Good luck.

Re: Bike rack?

You probably won't like this idea, but what about one of those ones that plugs into a trailer hitch? You'd have to get the hitch, but at least it's be one solid option...

I was going to suggest the same thing. I put a hitch on my GTP just for the bike rack. It holds up to 4 bikes and makes no contact with the cars paint at all

Hm, yeah, you're right. Putting on a hitch wouldn't be my first choice, but I guess it wouldn't look any less cool than having a couple of bikes attached to the car... Thanks for the input, I might end up having to do that.

Hollywood F1B. Clears the spoiler, doesn't scratch the paint.

Hitch rack is the only other option.

Re: Bike rack?

I have a complete hitch set up that I was using. Selling my RS. PM me if you interested in it. I always thought it would be cool to make a small utility trailer to pull behind it for your slicks and tools when you went to the track.

Re: Bike rack?

Plus wouldn't a hitch tie your rear sub frame together and stiffen the chassie?

Re: Bike rack?

Hey this is funny. I thought I was the only one who went mountain biking with a thirdgen. i use a normal bike rack with straps and just put a thick towel behind it to protect the bumper. That is when two or more bikes are on the rack. Other than that I take off the front wheel and shove it in the back.
