Summit 100A alternator

i just got a 100A Summit brand alternator and put in in today. Black powdercoated finish with chrome fan and pulley looks nice and high quality. feels like a heavy duty alternator- bolted right up. a high performance alternator for a great price.

Re: Summit 100A alternator

I second this opinion. I too bought the same 1-wire alt on sale for $80 from summit. Very awesome unit!

Re: Summit 100A alternator

yea and i think one of the best parts is that you can use it as a 1-wire, but it also has the hookup for a 3-wire. its the best of both worlds for a great price.

i've used a couple of them, good quality, only issue i had was with a chrome one. the chrome is crappy and flaked pretty quick.

When I push the buttons to put my windows up after they are all the way up, my lights dim down and RPMs drop. Time to replace alternator?

when i roll my windows all the way down, and it's raining I get wet. Time to replace the driver?
ok, besides the treadjacking. that means the battery is weak, oh, or maybe corroded connections, but usually weak battery.
and that could be caused by a weak alternator, corroded connections, or a slipping belt, or a short that drains it for that matter. but usually not those things as it would have more power with engine running.
many of the auto parts places will test ur battery and alternator in the parking lot for free. so u know which it is. or could be the driver.

Hmmm...must be. I am the car's power supply after all. Just forgot to take that into consideration.
