Spohn Anti-Sway Bars Installed

Last week, I ordered and installed the Spohn Anti-Sway Bars on my 91 RS. Customer service was excellent and the packaged arrived quickly. They were on sale.

The RS prior set up Toyo Proxie 4 tires (245/50/16) F41 sway bars, Eibachs, HD Bilsteins, Spohn LCA's, Panard, Wonder Bar, urathane bushing in the stock A-arms. The car was pretty amazing curves but when pressing hard would give more body lean than I like. I've always like the balance the sway bar set up had and was reluctant to change them when I did the other suspension upgrades last year.

I'm delighted with the Spohn sway bar set up. The body lean is gone & the car feels even more agile and stable. I would buy the bars again.

At this point, I'm wishing the car had Nitto NT05's on it.

I still have to get around to welding in the subframe connectors & getting a shock tower brace.

Where are you located? I have a 3 point TBI Edelbrock Strut Tower Brace on my '88 Formula that I would consider removing and selling. Also a Spohn wonderbar if you're interested. I noticed that you enjoy the stability when cornering. These both will add to your driving enjoyment. I no longer drive the Formy because I purchased a CTS-V.

PM or email me if interested. I'm located in NJ. Shipping would be difficult and probably expensive because of the size, but anything's possible. I can get pictures if intersted.

Thanks,
Kurt

To experience the full benefit of an STB, you might consider after market strut mounts, such as Spohn's or the Hotparts' version.

Personally, I'd rather give my $$$ for strut mounts to J&M (aka Hotpart), rather than UMI. It's obvious that UMI copied the Hotpart mounts. I'm not saying that the UMI's are not high quality, but they didn't put any innovation into them, they simply stole the design. Boo

Or is UMI buying and reselling the Hotpart units like Jegs or Summit would and re-brand it? Keep an eye on the Hotpart site. They have some really good sales at times. I picked up my strut mounts for $167 shipped this spring.

Why not just ask UMI directly if this is the case or not

Certainly is a good idea... If I was still looking to buy a set. I got mine from the source so I will let the people who wonder travel that road.

no, UMI makes theirs, they use slightly different material thicknesses and hardware. but are pretty much a copy.

Hotparts have a full lifetime warenty though. UMI's parts are gloss black, hotparts are more satin.
