Re: msd atomic efi
It is relatively new. Would like to see results. I like the way the throttle body body looks for the MSD and FAST better than the holley. but if I had to buy one id go holley because of holleys history.

Re: msd atomic efi
The salesman told us the only problem they have had with these are if you go returnless and drive on days that are 90 and 100 degrees the fuel will boil in the line. In which case adding a return line would solve.

He is going to the track tomorrow to see what it runs with the carb and then swap over. I am going to summit this weekend and will pick up the ez efi from fast as I would like to do a comparison.

I lied I'm most likely buying the msd also. There is like 5 connections total. And the throttle body looks sooo sexy lol
I like the idea of controlling timing also. Dads will be returnless and mine will be with a return

I agree, I will be very upset if it runs like crap. As with a regulator and fittings with the cost of my walbro 255 I will be at roughly 2500 for the kit

The first system I looked at was the FAST EFI. however then I saw the Msd Atomic Efi, and watched the SEMA reviews and all that Jazzy stuff.... The good thing is.... Theres more than one system to choose from!

Re: msd atomic efi
Well I talked to msd 3 times today and they have no clue....
When I called jegs and told them I was bringing it back they said " oh great another one"
It would run for 2 seconds on starting fluid then die.
Sad to say but there won't be a review since its going back. I'm really depressed that I wasted my money and I had to cut the car up for the fuel cell

Thats the atomic right? what the hell. Well Jegs is usually very good with returns/warranty stuff, even if the manufacturer warranty is out, jegs will sometimes extend it and provide a full refund of your purchased price.....

Will this unit run off a Walbro 190? I've been looking at something to replace my TBI unit for years now. And with the whole timing thing being internal to unit that's just one less thing I have to play with.
Anymore opinions on it after a week with it?

Re: msd atomic efi
"Returnless" systems have a regulator and a return line near the tank, only 1 line is sent to the engine bay. Im personally not a fan of the system.
My distributor/wires/coil have been fine, but Ive eaten 2 Digital 6's. First one was the ground was to the frame, apparantly they want it to the battery. Shorted that one out. Next one got wet from rain. Heres the kicker, its in the battery tray with the hood on. Not exactly alot of rain, just a little. Pulled them out and put a friend's version of the 6AL in the trunk, been fine since.
If the fuel pump can support the pressure required by the combination of the motor and system, than yes. Obviously a 305 is going to have less fuel demand than a 383.

Re: msd atomic efi
Thought id do an update, the more i ran the car the worse it would run. I had to start it like 10 times to get it to stay running and it would often die on decel and stops. I had black smoke from being rich coming out of the tailpipe and was eventually slower than it was with a carb on it. I took the system back. I would not recommend this to anyone. I would like to try the edelbrock one but dont want to waste my time again. Go with one that needs tuned

I have yet to be impressed by either system, yes they run and seem to work, But we have seen significant drops in both HP and torque on the dyno. They are poor responding and tend to over fuel and are very finicky to get them to self learn. If you want EFI spend the money and go with a proper multi port setup.

i have yet to have any of these issues with mine and i'v had it a bit more than 2 yrs.
as for the over fueling, how did you figure this? on mine the learning process was quick as anything i'v seen. and BTW, the ez has a system that goes perfectly with the HSR, MR, TPI systems.

i was not impressed at all with it. you dont see much info online about these systems and i hope that people looking into this system for their car steer another way.
thanks,

The 8 wideband sensors's we have on our dyno told me this. I do all our EFI tuning on the dyno. It over fueled horribly, and we have to drop the fuel pressure drastically and basically trick the computer into learning. Horrible system. I would never sell another yet alone use one.

My Holley Avenger TBI runs great even with little tuning. It runs on 21psi of fuel. I also have it controlling the timing. It also turns the radiator fan on or off wherever I set it.

thats strange, of all the systems i have seen i have yet to see a issue like that unless the accell fuel was set way on the other side. i have mine set at -6 and the AF is around 13.8-14.0 area (its been a while)in the WOT and 14 in cruz and idle areas. mine sings like a canary with no fueling issues.
could have been something underlying within the motor that triggerd that.
