Spohn wonder bar
hey guys i just installed a Spohn wonder bar (sk-995). it bolted up perfect in place in about ten minutes from the time i had the car on jacks.. im very happy with the rigid feel it gave my steering and it took away some rattle and flimsy-ness that these cars are known for.. good product

Re: Spohn wonder bar
Indeed. Ours has been on our C Prepared car for several years. While I didn't feel that much of an improvement, the price was right, it was easy to install, and lasts for years!!

Re: Spohn wonder bar
most people say it doesnt install that easily. I know it took me more than 10 mins with a rack. I had to trim stuff to get it to clear. still wasnt bad and a great product.

I installed mine yesterday too! The only issue I ran into was the goofy shaped bracket (lower driver side) for the stock single cooling fan was in the way. Nothing a longer bolt couldn't fix!

Re: Spohn wonder bar
yeah i have read the same thing about people having to cut the fan shroud and whatnot.. i think those problems only arise if you have a electric fan or dual fans.. mine is the stock set up and my chassis is straight so i didnt have any problems with alignment.. i am insalling a adjustable pan hard bar from bmr tonight. ill let you know how that goes

Re: Spohn wonder bar
Judging just by this thread, it looks like the Firebirds don't have any issues, but the Camaros do. I should have taken a pic while installing mine, but the driver side lower fan mounting bracket is huge and doesn't make any sense. It bumps out toward the engine about 2 inches and looks almost like something you'd run a radiator hose by (but not there obviously) and then goes back towards the radiator to mount the fan. Maybe factory engine setups had a use for it.

Re: Spohn wonder bar
yeah i had a wonderbar on my 87 IROC but it came factory i really didnt study it just because it was alredy there when my dad and i were building the car, but for some reason pontiac thought they didnt need one.. i have read horror stories about people trying to put these things on camaros with aftermarket rad. or fans. the had to grind and cut stuff up, i was like wooooow.. i dont want one, ehh did it anyways lol

Re: Spohn wonder bar
I just installed my wonder bar on the 92 Z-28 with dual electric fans, slid right in with no problem. Well, not quite, I broke 3 - 15mm sockets getting the bolts out. Should have used impack sockets in the first place. Sears, here I come.
