Midwest Chassis Fab 9"
So I just got back from working in the mountains to come home to my beauty MWC Fab 9" housing and Strange axles.
I currently have a QP 9" in the car which I never thought fit just right without having to hammer the **** out of the tunnel. This MWC 9" housing is absolutely beautiful! From looking at the welds to the powder coating and even the packaging the unit was shipped in it was easy to see that these boys are good at their craft.
This is definitely what I should've got the first time around but I guess I was trying to save a few bucks here and there which ended up biting me in the ***. The brake line clips and sway bar mounts welded on no extra charge and all hardware for the suspension components are included.
It definitely sucks to have to of done this twice but now I know this is the answer I've been looking for. If anybody else has been considering going 9" I'd definitely recommend the boys at Midwest Chassis.

Looks nice. And I just a month ago ordered one from QP. Hoping to have better luck and not to have to do things twice.

Looks great, please post pics once you have it installed. I want to see how the torque arm mount looks and if it will interfere with exhaust or trans at all. What trans are you running?

yea, that sure is a nice piece !
I love seeing car parts in side houses! I have done exactly that with some stuff when it arrives from UPS and till the wife says, ok, get that out to the garage where it belongs!

I should also mention that the torque arm is a 3rd gen specific mid length with its own crossmember that will weld to subframe connectors

Thank you sir. I know it's gonna be awesome once I get it in there. I've never heard a single bad thing about MWC Fab 9". They bolt in the same way a stock 10 bolt comes out. Plus the torque arm made for the rear end is pretty much the icing on the cake

Re: Midwest Chassis Fab 9"
Figured I'd update this thread since I finally got it all up and running and broken in. This MWC fab 9" is worth it's weight in gold in my eyes. Not only did it just bolt in without issue but it's super quiet, not one sound coming from it. The only thing I had to address was I had about 1/16" gap on the axle housing ends which were solved by using the shims Strange makes for the housing ends. No biggie at all. Definitely worth the money in my opinion. No more clearance issues with the housing or torque arm. And I've got the new shoes on the wheels.
Just dropped center section into the housing. Still needed to do brake lines at this point.
Got it slid under the car and lifted onto my floor jack. Nice and flat on the bottom made it easy to lift level-ish.
Shot of the torque arm clearance after I got it bolted in and onto jack stands. Centered up nicely
Another shot of the torque arm and chromoly driveshaft
On car adjustable panhard bar. Founders performance
New shoes for to put it to the ground. 275/40-17

Looks great. Which Torque Arm did you use? I thought I read where midwest makes you use theirs, but is a weld in cross member?

Re: Midwest Chassis Fab 9"
I originally bought just the torque arm and crossmember and weld tabs and was gonna adapt it to the quick performance rear end but that plan was for the birds. I pulled it out and sold it off for what I paid for it then put everything towards the Midwest fab 9" housing and axles.
After having both rears bolted in the car I can say without a shadow of doubt the Midwest piece is what I should've done the first time. Just another case of trying to be cheap and it bit me back

Re: Midwest Chassis Fab 9"
It's a very quiet unit. I took it out for the last drive of the season yesterday and beat on it a bunch. Got some high speed runs in and couldn't hear a thing from back there. I'm extremely happy with this purchase

Re: Midwest Chassis Fab 9"
Yes it's their torque arm and crossmember. Their crossmember is 52 3/4" from tab to tab which I cut off and welded to the inside of my subframe connectors.
I originally bought just the torque arm and crossmember and weld tabs and was gonna adapt it to the quick performance rear end but that plan was for the birds. I pulled it out and sold it off for what I paid for it then put everything towards the Midwest fab 9" housing and axles.

I have been shopping 9" units for some time and was leaning towards midwest, brute speed, or trick chassis. Do you have any pictures of your cross member? I would have to get rid of my blackheart unit and likely alter my dual exhaust.

Yea I've got some pictures not in the car. I'm also running the hooker transmission crossmember for my 4l80e but not running exhaust out the back of the car
