Not Happy with Jet Hot

(I also posted this in the Exhaust Forum)

I also (along with 92RSZ) recently had a problem with Jet Hot. They (Matt) quoted me $242.90 to Coat and Ship back to me my Hooker 2055 and the Y-pipe that comes with it. Everything was fine until I checked my credit card account and saw that they charged me $305.02. I called Matt about this and he explained that the Y-pipe that comes with the Hooker Headers is a foot longer than the 5' that he quoted me for, and that they were going to ship the headers and Y-pipe seperately, so it would be more money, but he told me he would try to package them together so he could knock off about 40 bucks from the $305 price...that was 7 days ago and they still haven't credited my account...I'm still waiting...I think its BS that they did that, especially since they've done so many hooker 2055 headers, they should know how long the pipe is that how to ship them....

That, my friend, is credit card fraud... It is highly illegal and violates a Federal Law. Call your credit card carrier and notify them.

That's the same dude I dealt with! He is the moron that is causing people so much grief. He basically lied to me twice about my stuff getting shipped. I finally got it last friday and the only deal they cut me was not charging me for 2nd day shipping. You seriously need to go above him and talk to someone higher up. A quote is a quote no matter if he screwed up or not. You could do future buyers a service and get that guy canned.

There is one problem with all of this... it was a quote, not an estimate. If it was an estimate you have no ground to stand on but if it was a quote then before anything "happens" they need to notify you before charging you. Look in your paper work to be certain than stand up for yourself on the phone. Do NOT get crazy on the phone, just explain to them that you feel cheated and would like to settle this with a simple credit. After some excuses of why they can't do it THEN threaten to take this to the next level. I had to do this with a radiator I bought off e-bay. The 3rd radiator shipped was what they had promised in the ad but to make no hassle I told them that I would pay to ship one of the radiators back but that they had to pick up the 2nd one! I still got the radiator for under $100.

I talked with Matt on at least three occassions and he did not do anything for severl weeks. Finally I made a claim with my credit card company and capital 1 credited the disputed amount. Matt from Jet-Hot is an idot. He's lucky I don't live near that company or i would have wnet there and slapped him around.

i guess i am one of the lucky ones with jet hot. i own my own business and when it comes to estimates i always have it in writting what the estimate includes and then i write down that any unforseen work is additional. but in this case thats different. all of the 2055 are the same so its not like he hasnt seen tham before. i ordered my headers direct from jet hot cause it is cheaper that way then to buy it have it shipped out to them coated and shipped back. i think he needs to come up with a price sheet and go by that

The exactly right...they're all the same size, so his (Matt's) excuse that the pipe was a foot longer than what he quoted me was just a scam, b/c i told him that "I have the Y-pipe that comes with the hooker 2055 headers." So he should have known how big it was and exactly what it costs to coat.

my shop used to deal with jethot al the time.ubtil we sent them a custom one of set of headers, when we got them back one of the primary tubes was bent and almost crushed.and it didnt happen during shipping they coated the headers like that.after days on the phone with them trying to get them to cover the repair bill.it took threatining them with taking the headers to every national nhra event we raced at and standing infront of there booth with them, before thay actually did somethng about it(though they would only recover half the repair bill).ever since then we have used airborne coatings.they offer the same coatings alot cheaper, and alot better quality.and we have never had a problem with them.
