strange engineering and UPS

Strange uses UPS frieght to ship your new rear and UPS isn't very good. I'm putting it that way to aviod profanity.

I ordered the new S60 from Strange whitch I'm sure is a top quality product. I wouldn't know because UPS won't deliver it to me. This may be a local problem here in phoenix with UPS frieght, but I highly recommend requesting another shipper. Like roadway for exampe. When I placed my order with Strange I requseted a lift-gate truck because these things wiegh 300lbs. UPS called to schedaule a delivery. I confirmed with the scheduler that it would be a lift-gate truck and she said yes it would be. I was told it would be here on Wed 01-24 from 1-5pm. So I waited around till 6:45 and finally called to see whats up. I was then told that it never went out for delevery because they didn't know if someone paid for a lift-gate truck. no one ever called to let me know about this they just let me wait for something that wasn't coming. If there had been a problum with that I would have been glad to pay the charge. So I call at 9am on 01-25 to try and get them to deliver it. They told me it would be here from 1-5pm. I waited again it never showed up. So I called at 5pm and was told it never went out. but again no one ever called to let me know this. I'm so mad right now I wish I could go back it time and demand different shipper. maybe I'll get it tomarrow, I hope.

You arent the only one. UPS Freight had the same exact problem delivering our parts to the California warehouse. No lift gate trailers available anywhere. Finally after failing to deliver three days in a row, they showed up in a regular trailer and we hand unloaded the boxes.
We've since gone back to FedEx Freight. Surprisingly, the driver said they never had a problem as Overnight Freight, until UPS bought them.

We actually use both UPS and UPS Freight and have found them to be very good, much better then the other carriers we have tried.

I understand the mix up with the liftgate, that is a pain. But what I have learned from years of loading and unloading trucks and scheduling freight it is hard to get exact times. Trucks get tied up due to weather, accidents ect. and delayed shipments and pick ups cause delayed deliveries ect.

I know when we ship something UPS Freight it is another $50 for a lift gate service, this was probably never paid for by Strange and/or not approved and since the shipper was paying the bill they needed to go threw Strange first before you. I think that is where the problem is. My guess at least.

I finally got this thing. It looks awesome I can't wiat to try it out. I was even able to put it in by myself with a trans lift. After that, I put my UMI torque arm, panhard bar and lower control arms on. The UMI products also appear to be top quality and very well packaged when shipped. I got the rear on friday. I was told it would be here after 1pm but the driver called at 8am to see if I was home. Thankfully I was, the driver was great he took the thing off the truck and put it in my garage for me. He also said something about being bought buy UPS. I don't mind a mix up, but they should have called me the first day. And the second day I think the dispacth chick lied to me when she said I would get it Thursday. She knew it didn't go out that day. I would recomend paying extra for the lift gate. I wouldn't want to lift it off the truck. Also Strange does a good job packing your new rear for shipping. I really hate gitting something that just has a shipping lable slapped on it and sent out.
