For those of you who are looking for honesty, integrity, great service and great products go to www.tbichips.com or www.tpichips.com

I have done business with Brian Harris for 2.5 years now and he offers solid advice and recommendations and is excellent at custom tuning.

Check out his projects and websites. He is easy to get a hold of and prompt with returning calls.

Re: TBICHIPS.COM TPICHIPS.COM

I have ALWAYS been against mail order and always will be. I tuned a 1994 C1500 in person that had a TBIChip.com chip in it. Ran poorly after several attempts to get it right. I read the TBIChip and it had almost stock Spark and VE tables in it. I ended up reading this guys stock memcal and starting a tune from scratch. I create a new VE and Spark table with values I feel are more correct than stock. Fired right up and ran very well. After some fine tweaking it ran GREAT. His chips never came close. I will admit this truck had a 383 with aluminum heads, aggressive hydraulic roller cam and a high rise single plane manifold.

However, I have heard nothing but good customer service though.

Re: TBICHIPS.COM TPICHIPS.COM

i would have to agree that his build required datalogging and custom tuning from what it sounds like.

Re: TBICHIPS.COM TPICHIPS.COM

So it would be better to send the memcal to have a custom chip programmed. But then to do a proper tune you would need the car as well?

Re: TBICHIPS.COM TPICHIPS.COM

Basically, you'd need to do your own datalogging and from them either burn your own chip or send the data to have Brian do it for you.

There are a ton of threads on this that can guide you further.

Re: TBICHIPS.COM TPICHIPS.COM

I`ve been doing business with brian for a while now and I agree with the OP as well as fast 355.Brian is easy to get in touch with, customer service is great. The tune he did for me has had it`s issues.First it was a lil lean with knock counts and retard, now it`s a little rich with knock counts and retard.I understand it`s still a mail order tune even though I am dattalogging and sending him the datta so he can make adjustments. It`s still going to take some time to get it close. To his credit he has taken it back to adjust it several times trying to get it dialed in.He is going to take some timing out and see what happens with the knock counts/retard.I`m` not sure but I dont think any of the other chip companies would take the time to stay in touch, keep working on something and not just give you the run around.Untill I start doing my own chips I will use Brian/tpichips/Harris performance.I could be wrong but,I dont think any mail order tune is going to be great the first try just like if you diy it will take some trial and eror to get it dialed in.

Re: TBICHIPS.COM TPICHIPS.COM

I haven’t been impressed by his work. What threw me off trying to retune one of his previous customers chips was he set the Blm and int range to 128 min and max. When you datalogged unknowingly it looked as if the engine was tuned but this was far from the truth. Unless he accepts datalogs and will refine your tune without fudging the Blm/int so they look good might try a diy approach or dynamic efi ebl better bang for the buck.

I found the same thing in a couple of vehicles he tuned later as well. I had to fix the tuning in a 94 G20 van with a bone stock L31 in it that neither Brian or Sinister performance could get right.
