tbichips.com ?
Hey, has anyone bought a chip from tbichips.com? I have had no luck with superchip, so was thinking about buying one of these. Are they worth the money?

Brian is a great and will hook you up. Try to have winaldl data for him first though, so he has something to go off of.

I have the winaldl program and a laptop on the way. Do i just hook the laptop up to my car at a idle and then save the table? I have never used this program before and am not very familiar with it.

If your car is completely stock, then no, he does not need any info. He already has chips for your aplication. If you can get some though, it would still be worth it because stock fuel pressure varied from car to car with the tbi. It would be my recommendation to wait on a chip if you plan on doing any mods though.
The only big mod I want to do is 3" exaust. Is that going to matter. And I dont know if that is even going to happen any time soon. I'm buying a house in a few months, so money is going to be tight.

Then for the time being, save your money and wait to buy the chip until after you do the exhaust. Generally speeking, performance chips do little for a stock car. I know the hypertech did nothing for mine when it was near stock. However, I can't really speak for Brian's pre-made chips. I'm guessing they are of better quality then hypercraps. I believe he adds timing to the entire table, and the speed limiter is disabled. Hypertech only adds a few degrees of timing and fuel at WOT. So it is really your call I guess, and how tight money is.
i bought one, VERY pleased, i heard someone bad mouthing him on another post, i told them to go to hell, ...30 bucks, custom chip for YOUR cars specs, and you dont have to worry about burning 20 diff proms yourself to ge tone halfway right , PLUS spending a potential 300 bucks on the crap to burn it??.....get one from brian, seriously. sent the money friday, got the chip the next wensday, two thumbs up..

well due to this post i am in the process of getting a paypal account up and running and soon will be ordering one of his chips. I will probably have the VATS removed (he says that it can be done and he won't charge extra) since i believe that it is starting to act up and causeing random no start conditions that take like 5 minutes and then it starts up like nothing happend. I figure the extra timing and the removal of the limiter and such for $30 is a nice cheap college student mod.

Yup got here yesterday, just a little slow, anyway easy to install and such and once i plugged everything back in, hooked up the battery, fired it up and it ran smoother than it has been (probably needs a tune up and such) and seemed to pick up a bit better down low and upt top. Deffinantly worth the $30.
I bought from him and was very pleased. Be prepared to smell a lot of gas at first when you start up the engine. After running for a few minutes that went away. The chip actually confuses the computer telling it that more air is coming in the engine and therefore adds more fuel. This gives a little more hp. I'm glad I got mine. It comes packed in a white envelope with some packing in it, and the chip is on a cardboard piece to protect the edges. Definitely worth looking into.

I recently read in High Performance Pontiac magazine that they suggested a chip for Performance Resource (www.performanceresource.com) for thirgen cars. It's a replacement PROM. So it this better than tbichips.com? Or are they completely different and I prove I'm an idiot?
