Is LT1 Intakes.com still in operations?

I sent my Intake and money to LT1 intakes to have it drilled after I had Ported it, Welded all of the holes that needed closed, and had it milled. There was not alot left to do but drill the holes and install the rear spacer. That was in June, now in November, comming to December, I still do not have my manifold back. I have sent email after email to them, but they do not respond. I am tempted to drive over to see if anyone is still there, But I am not to that point yet. I am open to any help I can get.

Last I heard the guy that bought the business from John got to busy to do anything with it. Did you not contact them before sending everything to them? I'm selling a converted one btw.

Re: Is LT1 Intakes.com still in operations?

I did contact him before I sent it. He actually ask me how I wanted to have the holes drilled early or late style heads, when he first received it, then nothing.
It would have been an easy one, since I had already welded all of the holes close, decked the surfaces, and removed the extra material that would be in the way on top, ported the entrance to mate up to my twin 58mm throttle body, and smoothed all of the surfaces on the entrance to help bring the air in. All he had to do was drill the bolt holes, the Dist hole, and install the spacer. I wasn't in a hurry, but this is just too long. I may have to change what I was going to do. I just hate to after I did all of the work already.
What are you wanting for your intake?

Here is the link to the for sale ad on it.

That would make me pretty mad if I sent the money and the intake and never heard anything back.

LT1intake really has quite interesting way to do business. Email conversation goes nicely until that point, when you pay for the intake. After that, no intake, no emails...

Re: Is LT1 Intakes.com still in operations?

LT1 Intakes is still in operation. it has just been suspended for the moment. The owner of the operation has moved, and it is taking some time to get things back up and running.
I am sure we have all been there. I was able to contact him by phone and we spoke for some time. I am happy to say he knows more than most about these systems and how to make them work.

I've yet to do business with him, but he's always been really nice when talking to him about different things. He's not out to screw anyone. Like a lot of folks on here, it's a part time business and his main job and family come first. I'm the same way with my part time gig. If you have the patience just wait it out.

Re: Is LT1 Intakes.com still in operations?

Well, I am going into 8 months now. That is not a part time gig! That is not even a hobby! That is an anchor that you are trying to figure how to get rid of. I had to bolt another intake to the car to get it to a show this weekend. I guess I am going to have to sell the parts I already have, and buy a HSR to finish my car. I Would Not Suggest sending anything to LT1 Intakes.com until he is back in business. He will not call me back, nor will he even send me an e-mail to let me know what is going on. He seemed like a very nice knowledgable person, but I did not have a year to wait, and would have done something else if he would have told me he was not going to do the job. I even told him that there was someone else doing the work, I could get it done there, but he promised he would get to it that week. Of course, another month has passed, and nothing.

Re: Is LT1 Intakes.com still in operations?

Although I've never dealt with this guy, after reading all this about him I would NEVER send him my intake to work on. You guys can't be serious in still considering him as an option to have your intakes worked on LOL!!! Nice guy on the phone or not, this is no way to run a biz by having people wait 8 months to get their intakes back. All I can say is if you haven't sent him an intake, but still plan on doing so then you deserve what's coming to you.

I couldn't agree more. If he can't do the work than that should be the first thing on the website in huge bold letters.

That is when we had the Pow-Wow in Greenville, OH. after Grumpy's passing.
He made it there and we discussed final details for completing the S_AUJP V4 project since he did allot of work on it as well.
I haven't heard anything from him since then either.
Don't know what happened.

Re: Is LT1 Intakes.com still in operations?

I just wish I could get the courtousy of him answering the phone. He could send me the manifold back, or even just my money back. I can't even get them to answer the phone. I left my toll free phone number on the answering machine. Still nothing.
It may be "ILLINOIS"!!!! I've herd stories about never being herd from again!
Maybe I should just drive over and see, It would only be a two hour drive.

2 hours...what are you waiting for?? I've driven 4 hours before. When your talking anything over 200 bux or an item thats needed to complete a project or go to the next step it'd be worth checking into right? Dont' go there with a chip on your shoulder but as a friendly customer and see if you can get it all worked out.

Re: Is LT1 Intakes.com still in operations?

I have never approched him with a chip on my shoulder, I am not that type of guy, and for that same reason, I would never show up at his home without speaking to him first. I am a fellow motor head, If he were having a problem, he could keep the two hundred dollars, I just wish he would say so. I am the type who would roll up my sleeves any help if I can. I am a Military Vet who works with Medicare people all day. You don't do that without a certian temperment. I am just going on soon to be a year now with this thing and I would like some kind of conclusion to it. It was sent the first of June 2007. Most of the metal work was done, only the holes had to be drilled. That is the part I felt best left to someone who knew what they were doing, and had the experiance. That is what you are paying for. Anyone can drill a hole. Experiance drills it in the right place in the right direction.
If things went south for him after that, he should have just let me know. I would have understood, and made other plans. Since he already had my manifold and my money he should have let me know something.

Brother, you were SCAMMED!!! Buddy took advantage of your good nature, and soft hearted attitude towards him. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt you'll ever hear from this scumbag again concerning your intake or money.

I don't know what's up with Scott and LT1intakes.com, I've dealt with him a lot in the past as well as the main manual tranny S_AUJP v4 tester. But he definitely appears to be MIA right now. I'm not getting email replies either. Hope something hasn't happened to him.....

That's what I was thinking. Everyone is way too quick to assume that the guy is doing this intentionally, maybe something happened to either him, or a loved one. These situations happen too all of us. To the original poster, don't use the "I'm not going there until I speak with him first", you should really go there as a concerned (not disgruntled) customer. You have every right in doing so. As you already pointed out, you have no chip on your shoulder, you just want to know what's what. I mean, it's been almost a year for crying out loud....

Re: Is LT1 Intakes.com still in operations?

There is an LT1 to TPI conversion manifold on EBAY right now. The bidding is at $200. A real bargan for this manifold.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...245288005&rd=1
I have received an email from Scott, and he said my manifold should be back at any time. I can not wait. I have already purchased another, so if you are interested, please contact me. Mine has had the holes welded, not epoxied, The entrance has been blended to work with a twin 58mm throttle body. It will be slick when it is done.

Well, it has been two weeks since his reply. He did send my money back, but the manifold is still MIA. I hope it gets here soon. 13 months and counting. I will have a party when it gets here. I am moving to another house in a couple of months. I hope it gets here before then.

Re: Is LT1 Intakes.com still in operations?

Just an update,
The manifold is still not here. I am looking at the letter I received last month, which said it will be here by the end of the week, if not sooner, well I guess he did not say what week. We are going into 14 months. Does anyone really want to do business like this.
He only sent the money back when I called and left a message that I was comming over there to check on him. He screens his calls, and will not answer. I guess I should call it quits, and consider the manifold a loss. Everyone told me that he was a real reputable guy. He was a member of thirdgen, but now he is just a bad business man who does not keep his word. I am real tired of the promises. If he could not do the manifold, He should have just told me so. Instead he told me in January that he had found my manifold still in the box I sent it in, and thought it was a Christmas present. He said Oh I will have it in a couple of weeks when I get my garage finished. It is Mid July and he sent me an e-mail last month saying he would have it by the end of the week if not sooner. Sooner than what? The end of the world.

Re: Is LT1 Intakes.com still in operations?

Just wanted to update you on this,
After a couple of years, I gave up on this guy. I bought a BG 750AV with Electric Choke. My 383 runs great in any weather. I was able to sell the rest of my Fuel Injection parts (injectors, pump, sensors, ect.) and used the money for the New BG750AV. I really thought the LT1 conversion was a neat way to go, but after the fight, the Good Old Carb is trouble free. The 750AV does flow 650 cfm, due to the size of the AV accelerators.
Sometimes the cheapest, easiest way is the best way.

Sometimes we have to find the limit of our abilities and do what is easier.

Good luck with the project!
