My HSR Build

Finally got it together, running and broken in and well worth all the trouble.

Specs are:

350 010 block .030" over
Speed Pro hyperuectic flat tops
ARP rod bolts
COMP custom grind, Advertised 267/280, 224/231 @.050, .477"/.480" lift on a 112 LSA
COMP valvtrain including 1.5 Gold aluminum full rollers
RHS Pro-Torker's 1.94/1.5's, 170cc intake runners, 67cc chambers
HSR/fuel rails with Kirban regulator and Accel 24lb injectors for now
Hooker 2055's to 3" system.

I'm running the stock 165 MAF hoping to get it dyno tuned in the next week or two but for the tune its running the car pulls really hard. Base timing is at 16* but I might bump it back down to 12-14* as it seemed to pull harder there.

While I was doing the motor I also did a 2400rpm converter, aluminum DS, and 4th gen rear with Richmond 3.42's. Theres a million other little odds and ends I'm missing but you get the point. I still dont know what to expect for hp but I cant wait to put it on the dyno. Now for some pics.

Re: My HSR Build

Looks good man. Should be a good combo. Could use abit more head, but should be a decent build. I'd expect high 12's

Re: My HSR Build

Wow its been a while since I been on here, I havent had it out much in the past weeks, I had a polylock loosen up on me and I've been a little scared to go have any fun with it, I think I may go with longer rocker studs as I only get 2-3 turns out them before "0" lash.

Funny story, got a 350 to swap in as a "stockish" tpi, I needed heads and the Pro Torkers all done werent much more money than stockers, 3000 miles later I tore down the motor to find 2 cracked pistons, i ended up getting another DD and then the this set up started to take place, I had the heads they were practicly new so I used them. Now heres my situation, I still havent decided if in the spring I want to swap the RHS's out for a set of 1040's while the bottom ends still fresh or do up a simpleish single turbo setup. Original plan was a t3/t4 style blower running 6-8psi, which is why I kept my CR around 9:5. But who knows...

Re: My HSR Build

9.5 to 1 on iron is abit high for boost but 6-8psi should be doable and make more power than a head swap... the choice is yours IN the end, head swap would be easier/cheaper/less maintenance but not as cool

I'm really leaning towards boost mainly because I'm already searching around for parts for the next set up which is going to be a LS based single hair dryer set up so if I can start learning how to tune for boost it will make that project go alot smoother. I'm still not sure of which turbo I'd run, I want to stay with something small and pretty tame, the car is fast as is and I dont want to test my bottom end to much its just a stock 4bolt with ARP rod bolts and Speed Pro hypereutectic's. Whatever I run I have to make sure my tune is spot on.

The install looks great. I've done the hsr intake on my 91 1le camaro what a headache finally got it all put together last year it runs strong but could use some more tuning. I hope to find a shop up here on the east coast who can do it. I noticed your in mass? I'm in maine. Do you ever take your car to any shows? I'd like to see it some time talk about the different thing we did to get our hsr's up and running and maybe swap ideas on how to make it better
