It had to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen or heard. Especially up that close. Seriously, it was less than 40 feet. Felt like sitting by a campfire when they were warming them up and doing pulses.
I've never worn earplugs in my life to anything, but saturday, I did almost all day. I've been to indoor monster trucks, tractor pulls, MANY concerts and heck I've been in a few bands myself... and never wore earplugs to anything but this. My hearing shows for it though... I've noticed its been getting a bit worse lately... and its already not very good due to damage from high SPL expsure. And I'm only 20, so I've gotta live with that the rest of my life. Take hearing protection seriously guys. If it makes your ears ring the next morning, it was too loud. Because eventually, you're ears won't STOP ringing anymore. In crowded rooms or open/echoey spaces I can hardly understand a word anyone says when they try to talk to me unless the are up close to me and speak very clearly, and almost always have to have somone repeat the first thing they say.
