Harwood cowl hood owners inside please

I have a chance to pick up a 3" Harwood cowl hood, already painted black for $150. The guy says that the hood has one small bad spot. I'm not sure if he means a dent, scratch, chip, or what, but for that price I fell bad to pass it up.

If you own a Harwood hood tell me your thoughts on looks, quality, ect. so I can make a good decision on this. Pics are good too but try to keep them relatively small, my computer will never load those huge pics Thanks!!

Car: too many ...
I like my Harwood. Its a 2.5" A good tip when you get a fiberglass hood is to remove or buy weaker hood struts. If the hood struts are too strong, they can cause the hood to weaken around the mounting points over time while the hood is closed. I have friends who have had bad experiences with their fiberglass hoods and stock hood struts over a long period of time. Eventually it cracked.

Mine fits like sh*t. I had to slot the hood hinges almost an inch, and had to slot the hood latch a mile too. I think they put the outer skin too far back on the inner piece when they put them together, because when I first bolted the hood on, it closed perfectly, but sat almost an inch too far back. I slotted the hell out of everything to get the hood *almost* where it's supposed to, then the striker was missing the latch.

After many hours of dicking with it, we managed to get it *decent*. It still sticks up 3/8" above the fenders and sits too far back.

Mine fit almost perfectly. I do recommend getting weaker hood struts though. I noticed with my stock ones that the hood would flex to much. I installed a set for the 82-83 camaros with the fiberglass hoods and they work perfect. No more prop rod action here.

we got this hood because it was pretty flat and easy to paint flames on. Not my favorite hood, I'd prefer to have stock hood. You do need to do lots of adjustments to get all your lines and gaps even.

IT was about $475.to my door because of the truck frieght charge..as for fit i had a boby shop do all the work when i had the car painted and it fit's great, harwood told me not to run the struts so i don't, and it has not cracked any where and it's 7 years old....

I have no pics but my 3" harwood hod fits like crap. it sticks up about 1/2" above the drivers fender. the rest is perfect though. I used shims whereevre I could and enlarged the latch holes a lot. Also had to grind the front lip down a little to try and get the hood to sit lower. it shakes on the highway to. I wish there was a way to get 2 side latches instead on 1 in he middle

Well on a harwood your body man has to cut the lip down on the hood to get the tight fit, so when the hood is closed it's flat and all your the body lines are lined up perfect and straight,it fit's as good as my oem hood did.....
