if you put it that low, how would you get over speed bumps without sea-sawing them?

Ehh, its not bad imo. Maybe a different wheel size and tire combo would help.

Lets see if from the front.

In my opinion, a perfect dropped stance is when there is zero a just a tad bit of a gap between the top the the tire and the fender. What you seem to have is a negative ride height where the wheels looked tucked under the lip. I don't like that look. It is a bit low for me. I would rather take the stock ride height than have it slammed that much.

Would be nice if you were running air bags. With the option to raise it. But yeah, for car shows or just sitting around in the parking lot it looks good that low.

Looks to me like you could still drop another 2 inches before reaching the ground. I'm gonna go against the tide - drop it some more.

I think I like the look of it that low, not very good for driving around though, I'd say w/ airbags it'd be cool, cause you could slam it when your parked and raise it back up when you're driving around. I for one wouldn't ever lower a car that much, unless it was gonna be a show car.

Raise it up about 1.5 to 2.0 inches and it will be perfect. Soon I will be lowering my car as soon as I raise the funds for the project.

Geez I really thought that was an actual picture its the first picture of an iroc thats lower then mine in the front. I still havent taken pictures of the iroc yet becuase im lazy but I tuck the 245-45-16's that are on the car right now (in the front). The rear might have been lowered a bit i'm not sure but it has a little bit of a rake. And yes, I need to replace my front spoiler its taken quite a few on the chin from the previous owner.

trust me when I say you do not want it that low. When I first got my car the guy before me had cut the springs so low that it was seriously no travel in the front suspension. To reach the top of the tire under the fender you had to reach up and under the edge of the fender atleast an inch. The ride sucked, felt like an indy car, plus I couldn't drive over anything. By lowering it that low it sudeenly becomes a pain in the *** to drive it because you are always worried about scaping on something or ripping off the ground effects or something.

lay that baby on the ground (with air bags of course)! my hubbys s10 lays frame now (his winter project) and it looks SO nice. I never used to like things that low, but it grows on ya, and now I want to do it to mine next winter.. that is if I win the lotto. Air bags rule!

i love it...

i wish that i could go lower with mine...(almost a 5 inch drop front and 4 on the back)

but the damned roads here are not forgiving when it comes to bumps...

i have to do it right and get sportlines...maybe even konis...depending on if they actually help lower the car...any ideas on the konis??

sorry to highjack your thread dude..

i say do it though

I think you should raise it a little bit. I don't typically like lowered cars especially when it's that far down. If your rubbing fenders you need to raise it.

I _LOVE_ the look of a slammed thirdgen... but driveability would be an issue. I had my car low enough at one point that you couldn't roll a pop can under the chin spoiler.

Go start collecting IROC front nose clips, you'll need them if it is that low.

Also, if you notice when a car is "slammed"like that, the ride becomes very uncomfortable because of no suspension travel.

Yea, needs to go lower If its not throwing sparks, its not low enough!!!!!

True mini trucker, lol.

But on serious note, if its dialy driver, that is two low. Whoever said tire even with fender lip, or finger between tire/fender lip is right. Best for ride and apperence.

Its nice but you might not like it.

I own a '88 IROC-Z and mine islower then that. I am tucking 45 series tires int he front on stock 16"IROC-Z Wheels, and in the rear about .5" away from tucking 55 series. I Chopped my springs, cutting 1 1/2 Coils out of the front & 3 in the rear. The car rode pretty good, but I lost a ****load of turning radius, and it bottoms out alot, and what will really hit that low is your cat, you can gurantee it. Another thing, have fun jacking it up or getting it on a hoist. You cant just lift it, you have to jack it up from the horns on the front & behind the rear tire on the pinch weld. It ****ing handles mint though, but I am redoing my whole car, and for this spring I plan to have the Eibach Drag Spring kit installed.

You'll have serious traction problems going that low. The car might look good parked but it won't look so hot when a civic si takes you off the line cause you can't put the power down and hook up!

Zepher,
what did you have to do in order to fit those particular 4th gen rims under your car?

I put 2.25" wheel adaptors on all 4 corners. I didn't need that size for the rear, but I knew that I was getting a 4th gen rear and that it would be easier to sell 2 wheel adaptors sized for the front.
