white gauges

ok, i see a lot of you have white-faced gauges on your rides. and ive seen you talking about printing out the gauges, what paper to use and so on. where did you find the pics of the gauges? i think doing this might look pretty good on my car. would i have to change the type of bulbs in the display? can you see through it at night?

I tried printing mine out and it worked decent...But after , I found Duranged Designs...They have vinyl stick on ones for $20 They are awesome...I would have to recomend them over paper print outs.

ok, thanks a lot, is it possible to get a speedometer one that goes to 150 to replace mine that goes to 120 and not screw up the reading? are they spaced out the same on 150 ones copmpared to 120 ones, or would i have to get a whole new gauge? a higher speedometer looks more impressive

Watch out for the Dual Speedo set-up, I dont know if there was year changes or not, But for my 82, the bolt holes were in the wrong place, there was an extra hole in the bottom, and the odemeter and trip odemeter were switched...I modified them to work...I dunno if the 82s were different or not. All the other ones worked awesome. Still a very good product

I messed with them a while ago, I have made a bumch more, for all of you with the 85 mph speedo you can make it go to 90 and do whatever you want with them in photoshop. Here is one set I made (the flames are blue because that is the color of the car) if anyone wants a set i can chage the color of the flames or what not. ( oh yeah I have had people ask why it isnt a circle, this is what it looks like behind the covers)

I ordered it though Auto Zone...Grant makes-em but you have to get it from a distributor.......Go to Grants website they have different ones to choose from and just get the part number and go to an Advance or any parts store that sells the wheel...

oh yeah the price is I think ...$18.00 but maybe more maybe less depends on the button..

i found the templates, modified them and completly made my own from there. the bigest thing i can stress to you if you make your own is to take your time! carfuly cut things out, take your gauges out of your car when you do it and spend a whole day on it. i also painted my needles and made a few other things look better. cut around the whole gauge first and stick it on, also make sure to be positive you have everything aligned correctly (it sucks to spend all that time and have it read 25 when your going 35) make sure you get the needels back on right and before you put everythign back together take it for a drive to make sure its right. also make sure to always keep your hands clean (the brown gooey stuff on the speedo behind the brights light got on mine a bit) also delete the black lines in the middle where the odometer and trip gauges are. print them off with the best printer settings you can and print them on some thick paper. i stuck mine on with double sided tape and thats worked great. i wish i would have known all of that before i did mine but they still turned out looking awesome! creating your own can defentally look alot better than buying some from somewhere, pluss you get the satisfaction, gah i wish i had pics...
