Another 3rd Gen Forum?
Since we can't post anything but boring tech. I was wondering if any of you knew of some cool forums where they have a sense of humor and people can actualy discuss things?
Don't delete this or lock it. This is a good tech board, but obviously thats all it ever will be. So if any of you have some suggestions. It would be helpful.

yeah, i think it'd be cool to have a "lounge" or something to that effect on here. just something where we can have a little fun, all while not interfering with the tech boards. i mean c'mon, we're f-body owners! if we're gonna be known as the roughian type, we might as well live up to it - and an open speech board would be a good place to do it!

Before you previous postetrs get yourselves in trouble or people considering joining in to support the idea, read this https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=152066 and reconsider what you have to say before saying it.

I still love this site for the tech info. I mean I own a turbo ford..yet still surf the fbody boards. This used to be my favorite..but I find myself coming here less and less. BUT I know that if I wana go to a board for a lot of tech help..this is usually my first choice. If I want to go to a board where there is a lot of joking around and funny posts I go to www.nethirdgen.org . Eitherway this site is prob my fav....and the addition of a lounge may have its advantages...as well as its disadvantages.

I would think the problem would be that the cutting up in the lounge would spill over. Heck the mods just got this place decent again. A few months ago anything about custom this or that and the flaming would start and people who had legit ? could not get them answered, or the thread would be closed and people were afraid to discuss the topic.
Just a thought!

Yeah, don't get me wrong this is the best place to go for tech. Hands down then I can find.
But we all need a little more then that now and then, don't you think?
And, yes boring most of the time. Interesting and helpful. But not entertaining. I'm the type of person that goes about his day jokeing around and screwing around. So obviously, to me, no humor or no opinions being welcome = boring.
If I ever have any question that need an answer, I know where to go.

I think the tech info I find here is very entertaining. Maybe its just boring to you because you cant outright insult people like you can on other messageboards? I'll agree that is somewhat entertaining sometimes, but there is a time and a place for everything. It has nothing to do with not being able to be funny or voice an opinion. You can voice any opinion you want, you just have to do it like an adult. I like this website because the people who run it have class. They want this to be a clean website where you can go to discuss 3rd gens. Its alot better than reading about people insulting eachother. Lets face it, people act differently on a messageboard then they do in real life. They dont have a person standing right in front of them so if they are immature to begin with, they are more likely to act like children, insulting people, and just saying dumb stuff. I'm glad the admins of this messageboard take a stand against that kind of attitude.

Well, yeah it works for this site.
And its not boring to me because I cant insult someone. I dont do that, except to r!cers.
I like to joke around and have fun with people. You can't here. Atleast the way they've stated it you can't.

Ahh...ouch... the 56k would be enough to do it for me.
I'm only taking a couple classes right now, not enough to keep me from TGO-ing.
Oh well, the more I reply to this thread, the more work I'm causing you to have to do, and I find that somewhat amusing. lol

Oh... and to answer the question posted.... I dont' really visit any other f-body sites regularly aside from this one so I couldn't tell you which ones are good. But I'm sure any of the other large ones will have it's high points and downfalls, just like this one.

i don't know guys, Maybe we should consider changing the name of the site, Instead of Thirdgen.Org, it should be ThirdgenTech.Org It only makes sense. If this is going to be a "Tech" only site, have such a "General" site name is wrong. You would thing that a site with such a "General" name as Thirgen.Org should have a "General" Fourm. Although I do Subscribe to www.Moparts.com and they are very stricked on what "Non-Mopar" threads they have, But even if one is posted help is always around and you won't get "Locked Out" if it's "off-topic" or "Non-Mopar" you still get answers. Even thought you can post "IBFTHL" I guess i could still give out the ol' AssClown Award....
Just my Opinion....

Most of the time when post I get reply's like " Do a search!" Duh....
So lets face it, our cars are at least 11 years old..... So im sure that every question thats can be asked about a 3rd-gen has been asked...
They should just lock it all and make us do searches. Thats what it seems to be leading too.......
IMO

If you're getting people screaming to do a search, it's because you're asking stupid questions that have already been addressed multiple times. If you read the boards, you still find a wealth of brand new information every day. While you may find it inconvenient to do searches, it makes a difference in the quality of what's posted on the boards. If people didn't get hounded for posting the same repetitive stuff, that's all that you'd see on the board. You'd have to fish through 200 daily 4th gen seat and evoluizone body kit posts to find something that's actually useful. It sucks when you're on the wrong end of the "search" comments, but if you think this board is boring now without a non-tech forum, just try to imagine it when it's flooded with 200 copies of the same subject.

There are plenty of places to "play" on the internet...why the need to do it here? I mean, this is a tech site (although often a funny one), but there are lots of other places to go if you want to post something off-topic.If you want to stick to mostly F-body people CamaroZ28.com's lounge is one of my favorites.

Just a question out of curiosity... does anybody go to any automotive related (thirdgen or otherwise) forums that are tech-only like this one? I dont' think I've ever been to one, just wondering if there are other sites that are strict on that stuff.

I havent been to any that are just like this. But there is one out there that is even harder then this one.. You have to be sponsored by someone & if you mess up your Sponsore gets in deep with you. & if you say tomany stupid stuff with out doing searches then you are booted out right there.
But normally I hang with www.Camaroz28.com
www.Cascadecrew.org (PNW group)
