CustomX (nick) has them.

i don't think you should get red. your car is maroon. won't match. stick with all black.

Yup thats my car when i was installing them.

black on black.

The only reason i chose red is because the interior is red and figured the black woudl set it off witht he dash and window sills etc.

But with burgundy ext, and black int,

black/black
maybe bluck/burg dunno how that woudl look.

black grey?

Not too steep, its $900 for both front seats and the back. Considering they look like high quality products and they are custom I think its well worth it.

These guys make some VERY nice leather seat covers.

http://www.katzkin.com/

They replace the orignal covers, its like a brand new seat.

thier leather skins.

You basically re upholster the front and rear seats.

Thier good quality stuff, but you need to take care not to get the embrodery wet or dirty, and the colored part fo the leather. Its hard to get little dirt out of the red.

Do you think black and burgandy would look stupid? like black and (same color as my car), black on black i know would look good, but 2 tone is the whole purpose of custom leather interior u know?

they have some for 4th gens... you could find some trashed 4th gen seats I guess.

None for our cars, but I have seen some of thier stuff, its excellent. I don' t know if they have any plans to make them for out cars either.

If some of you like the look of the Mr Mikes covers, but for a lot less money, look into the Hampton vinyl covers that Hawks sells. They look and feel like leather, but are more durable and far cheaper. They have them for any of the popular seats (incl 4th gen), and can do custom colors. We just got a set of red and black PMD covers for Redraif's 87 (going on a spare set of seats, not the black ones we got from Zepher). We'll post pics as soon as we get them on, just picked them up over the weekend. They have repros of the factory covers too.

what about black and burgandy ??

That's what I'll be going with when the center sections of my 4th gen seats start showing age.

Mr. Mike's will sen dyou a swatch, so get them to send the burgandy and black, see if it will match...

I got some swatches and it is good quality stuff. Its leather and its just like having it done by a real shop. They don't feel like autozone seat covers. They use hog rings and the like to secure them just like factory.

In fact Hawk's seat covers are made just the same. I was going to save up and get Mr. Mikes till I saw and felt the Hampton vinyl Hawks sells. The stuff feels better the some of the 4th gen leather I have felt. Agian I will get the covers on soon and let you guys see them. They are awesome though. I can't wait to see them on!

With your color car I would definately go Black with really light tan/oak inserts ~or possibly black and dark grey . The Black/Burgandy combo would look cheap ....JMO though .

Redraif- I would be interested in seeing those seat covers once they are installed. I was looking into getting Mr.Mikes seats myself. I don't want to skimp on quality or compromise anything since I alone am funding and doing the work on my car. However if those seat covers are alot cheaper and NEAR the same quality it might change my mind. Do they have embroidery on them as well? I couldn't find a picture of them on hawks page so any help/insight would be great. I would like you're honest opinion on them since I've seen you're car, I would guess you go to great lengths to make it just right for youself.

There is no embroidery (I'll ask Bruce if he has a source for that next time I talk to him), but we were thinking about adding some on the headrest. It is nicer than factory GM leather IMHO, and looks far more durable. He can get it for 4th gen seats too, which is perfect if you find a good deal on ripped cloth seats. It could still be done cheaper than 4th gen leather.

I believe I remember Hawk's saying their guy could do embroidery, but we were strapped for time, so I could not have any done. But again we are thinking about have some done now that time is less of an issue.

Honestly, I would not even consider running them if they were not good quality that looked professionally done. They look like covers you would pay top dollar to have done at an upolstry shop. I will take some pics tonight even w/o them installed so you guys can see what quality goes into making them.

Redraif and LT1guy, in you're opinon do you think that mr.mikes seats are of such better quality to justify such a higher price tag? I think you two said that these seats were around 300, does that include both front and back seats?

Prices vary according to what you want (ours was a custom order), but worst case its still less than half the cost. If I had unlimited funds, I'd go ahead and use the highest quality genuine leather I could find (such as Okfoz used...VERY nice interior, but over $2k if I remember correctly, and thats still a good deal for custom leather), but being into show and performance I have better places to spend the extra $. The Mr Mikes covers are very nice, don't get me wrong, but for us it just wasn't worth the extra $, esp when we have so many other projects to build.

I got a deal on mine since they were "custom" as the first ones.

Are they worth 900 plus shipping? depends on how much money you can spend. if you can afford it. Yes. they fit great (if you install them right), loook superb.

Wow those seats look amazing. Money is not a consequence when it comes to finishing this project, I simply will not waste my time in creating something that is only "near perfect" to me. I have to reserve judgement until redraif posts pics of the other seats that she found. I have a couple questions, how long have you had the seats? Is any of the stitching comming undone, do they seem like they will last a long time?

got them over the summer. dont remeber an exact date, probably closer to june/july i think.

No stiching is comign up. the embrodery tends to get dirty if you actually drive the car (sat in it dirty from wokrign on other's 4th gens), but a quick clean and that comes right out.

No real plans to order the panels. I was thinkign about it when we came up with the idea to throw these seats in here.

But now im probably going 4th gen panels to match with the dash.

Go 2 tone on those as well.

Maybe an IROC-Z in the padded are at the back of them, like fatals has flames.

Since I have little to no luck in the apolstering department I won't attempt to make my own like some have. I sent an email out to mr.mike, probably going to ask about having IROC-Z embroidered onto the door panels before I order them.

I got in contact with Mr.Mike. He was extremely helpful in answering my questions, and also very friendly. The video that comes with his seats should be a great asset to me, because I am cluseless when it comes to this. I wish I could have ordered them today, but my camaro leaks like the titanic and is going in for paint. When thats over with, Mr.Mike will definelty have a customer.

I finally got to installing mine from him,

The front and rear seats are now Blue and Silver (To match the exterior of the car) as well as custom, digitized embroidered "Z28" in Blue w/ silver outlining, and "25th Anniversary" in red on the front seats.

Took over 20 hours (Sat & Sun) for me to remove the seats from the car, remove the old upholstery (factory light grey "p"leather), install the new custom leather upholstery, hog ring, cut out holes for screws, bolts, headrest, etc, and take lots of pictures along the way.

I am doing a complete review on the seats which is why all the pics were necessary and why it took so long. After much aching hands, fingers, back, cuts.. finally got them installed and into the car.

Here are some pics of them in the car. Note: These are not the best quality. They were taken during sundown and I've yet to have been able to take good pics when it's sunny (always raining on the weekend).

The blue on the seats might look shiny but that is because of the flash on the camera reflecting. Just letting you know since people are accusing me of painting for the seats, or they are too glossy.. ;-)

Personally I am very happy with the results. Definately looking forward to going to the next bunch of car shows next year. :-)
