My IROC-Z painted this morning...
Spent the last week working with my neighbor prepping my car. He layed down the black this morning. Its looking killer. Now we have another week for wet sanding and buffing. Ive got pics of the whole process here:
PICS
This was my most recent pic before the paint job started. Its a 20 foot paint job. Looks good from 20 feet away and when ytou get closer you see all the flaws. hehe

I think it looks good right now, especially in the first pic. Even your worst pic looks better than mine. It must be so cool to have your car look like it just came from the factory. . . . . . I have a long ways to go before I get there.

how did you shave the antenna? did you put a piece of sheetmetal underneath? or just puddy it? .....and what did you do with the antenna, do you think it will still get good reception? im in the process of prepping my iroc for black paint also,......just wondering how you did the shave...

daddy like... i would give my left grape sized body part for a paint job like that.... dont tell me you sprayed it in that garage... ive layed some paint before and had the worse luck in similar conditions... try buffing out a cat.. seriously tho, nice. :hail: :hail:

Hehe your the first to notice the antenna delete . He just cut out a little piece of sheet metal, welded it in and smoothed here out with puddy. The whole task seemed to take him 15 minutes. I was still busy taking the mirrors and door handles off and he was done! He has been painting about 20 years so he knew how to get it done quick.
Im going to try to jsut put my antenna in the dash and see how it works. If that fails Ill get one that mounts up the side of the windshield.

I am a professional paint and I can tell you that he did a damn good job... the paint is very slick from what I can see of the pics and there won't be much compound needed for that job... once again nice car

Awsome! I love seeing good work being done to our thirdgens. Great looking paint so far. I can't wait to see the final product. I may be going through the same process again with my 84 Firebird. In the 5 year plan.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Im quite excited that this never ending project is finally getting nearly complete. It will never end though ... upgraded brakes are next... then who knows. More power most likely .
