Stripping Tint

What's up y'all...I'm planning on getting some new window tint for my 91 RS but first I need to strip off all that old purple crap. I was wondering if there's any way to strip it off without the risk of scratching the glass. I hear ammonia works pretty good...Anyways, if anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it alot.

As I understand it, all amonia does is kill the tint, but it will still leave the material there.

Heat gun or hair dryer, rasor blade, amonia based windex. and about 3 hours. I did my car when I bought it 5.5 years ago.

Ok, thanks guys...I guess there's no getting around using a razor blade. I'll just take my time and hope it turns out alright. So if anyone has any other ideas, I'm all ears. Thanks again.

Well the heat gun and windex will get most of it off. You just need the rasor for starting the peel and for the small peices that don't come off.
