Cheaper 5000k true HID conversions ...

Came across this website while doing some random searches in Google. I found a place selling true HID conversions (true conversions, not just H4 bulbs) 5000k light for $350. This is alot cheaper than the other "cheap" $500 kits.

Here is the link to the $350 deal:

http://www.importhookup.com/forums/s...p?threadid=106

Here's the link to the HID manufacturers website:

http://www.brightstar-hid.com/index_e.php

I know you guys might flip out since they're being sold on an Import related website, but just remember that these conversions will also work on our cars considering you have the right bulb enclosures. I'm not affiliated with this in any way, so please dont lock this thread regarding advertising reasons. I just saw a deal, and think a few people on these forums might want to do the conversion. To any of you who have already done the H4 conversion, and want even brighter light, these H4 HID conversion kits will bolt right in. Here's the info on the HID Conversions:

Brightstar HID 5000K HID Conversion Kits

Each kit consists of:

2 HID Bulbs
2 Ballasts
2 Igniters
2 Brackets
2 Standard Harnesses
1 Bag of mounting hardware
1 User manual/warranty information

Bulb Bases available in:

Brightstar 5000k HID kit - H1
Brightstar 5000k HID kit - H3
Brightstar 5000k HID kit - H4 (these will work for us with the H4 enclosure)
Brightstar 5000k HID kit - H7
Brightstar 5000k HID kit - 9004
Brightstar 5000k HID kit - 9005
Brightstar 5000k HID kit - 9006
Brightstar 5000k HID kit - 9007

Warranty
All products are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty from all factory defects. Products must be installed without touching the bulb for warranty to be valid.

Quality Assurance
Brightstar-HID has received awards and certificates from the European E13 approval, Chinese National Automotive Quality & Quality Supervising Center, Automotive Research & Testing Center, and the ISO 9001:2000. Click Here for more information.

Installation
These plug and play kits are easy to install. All you have to do is remove and unplug your old bulbs, put in your new HID bulbs, connect the bulb to the igniter, the igniter to the ballast, the ballast to the harness, and the harness to the headlight connector. Note that you can either secure the ballast by mounting it directly to the vehicle or bolting it in with the mounting plates.

I'm seriously considering a set...

ok, im jsut wondering one thing...

now alot of the H4 conversion lights are cheap plastic, and they melt when you run a hotter H4 in them...

now i know a TRUE HID system puts out less heat..... will these still run cool enough to not melt the plastic housing?

They dont get hot enough to melt anything. Yet another plus of HID's. The light arc is very hot inside the bulb, but because it uses less wattage than an H4 bulb it will not run as hot as a H4 bulb. But dont think that means the light output will be any less. They are much brighter than H4's. Most of the times things melt in a H4 setup, people are running too much wattage for that housing. Unfortunatly alot of H4 kits come with bulbs that run too hot. So no, they wouldn't melt a cheap plastic enclosure. But if you want to be really safe you could get a well made glass enclosure, they do make them for our cars, and it would reflect the light alot better. But then it starts getting more and more expensive. I guess it really depends on how much someone things good lighting is worth. Even $350-$500 + enclosure is alot more expensive than the $60-$100 H4 kits. And to think the high end HID kits run $800-$1200!! After riding in a car with HID's I think its well worth the $$.

MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT RUNNING A SCAM. TRUE HID CONVERSIONS WERE OUTLAWED ON 8/15/03. ANYONE(BUSINESS) CAUGHT SELLING HID CONVERSIONS IS A $2,500.00 FINE FOR EACH CONVERSION SOLD. I WAS GOING TO PURCHASE KATZ HID, I WAITED TOO LONG & NOW CAN'T GET THEM. NO ONE SELLS THEM DUE TO THE NEW LAW, $$$$$$$$$$.

CHECK IT OUT.
http://www.hidforum.com/
I'VE ALSO SEEN IT ON OTHER WEBSITES, WHICH I CAN'T RECALL AT THE MOMENT. SOME RETAILERS OF HID LIGHTS HAVE POSTED ON THERE WEBSITES WHY THEY NO LONGER CARRY OR SELL TRUE HIDS, DUE TO THE NEW LAW.
