Hood Raffle Complete email address

Hello Everyone, I see there has been a mess started here . I most likley should have given the complete email address of the winner since i did not have a name on the email other than his e mail address only. I will post all of the email at the bottom of this post, But first i would like for you to read my post here. I have not been running a scan i posted part of the email last night thinking who ever won the ralle would contact me and verify the rest of their e mail. Sort of like a check and blalance thing, like our goverement has in palace. If the winner has have put their name in their entry e mail i would have said something like Congradulations Rex Orr you are the winner. Please contact me at Rex @americansportscar.com or phone me at my office number. But just my luck all i had to work with was a e mail address. I was in a hurry last night to get all of the other boards and your's posted as I had had a very buey day yesterday and i have been gone all day today to GA. So when i saw i had no first and last name to list, it came to my SIMPLE mind to try and not give out all of the e mail thinking something sort of like this could happen. That was one of several mistakes i have made in the raffles I have had going on. In the future i plan on getting a third party, that people on the board that I will do a raffle on can Trust. It is very clear from all the messages i have that i am lower than dirt. Can not be trusted and i am supposed to be Busted. I think the winner might have been some one surfing sites and saw my raffle emailed me and probley forgot about it.

Rex, I feel I should be the first one to apologize in this thread. I played a big part in what happenned last night. At first, I thought to myself that something didnt seem right, and once someone else posted it, it all went from there. That, combined with the vibe I got from Trigger's post in the Vendor forum made me think that a scam could be very possible.

Last night, there were alot of things that didnt seem right, and alot of things that did add up... fortunatley we were wrong, what we said was wrong, so thus, I hope you accept my full apology, as I stated I would offer last night.

Although I still dont agree with Trigger's situation and the money he was charged, that is a different incident.

Take care, and thanks for your generosity and understanding.

-Rob

Hood raffle

To be safe and not go too long on the message which i did, i have replyed to my own post. now to remember where i was. Most likley who ever the winner is, was not a member of this board my mistake for now limiting to Members Only, I will do that with the future raffles. I can understand when no one knows the winner, then people start thinking FISH. Like i mentioned before my mistake # not sure. In the future entries will be for member's with profile only and several other rules to go by. Then who ever impersnated the winner's email and clamed the prize chimmed in their bull and -ell breaks lose. I have been called a lot of things on here. Talk is cheap they say. I have and will always in the future try my very best to offer a fair, honest raffle in the past and in the future. My intent was to make some one happy with a free hood plain and simple. It has been a long too days even with out all the problems with this board. All I ask of people is Please do not Bomb the listed winner with a lot of e mails elect some one you trust to send them a e mail and confirm their name and all you want to. Then maybe find in your heart to welcome them to join this message board with open arms.. Rember we we all guest on this board at one time. Say what you want to about me it don't matter. I have sent Derk a message I have know him online for about 3 or 4 years now. My plan now is to send him all of my thirdgen entries and let him pick a winner that will make two for this raffle. the following email address truley won the first one wowcolorsemail@aol.com I have scanned in this complete email entry and have forward it to Derk. It is my understanding he is ill tonight and most likley in bed so we will work out something with him to do the other drawing. For me I am going to bed and try to forget this. To any MOD could I please have a sticky for this First post I feel like that would be fair. As for the Busted POST sticky i feel that would be a good thing to remove or at least put the reply back up as i was in there this morning trying to understand what was going on. see you all Rex

I only learned about this mess tonight, but I'll chip in my .02.

Rex Orr:
I have nothing but respect for you. You run a money-making business that attempts to have a good percent of your customers happy. I'll add one to that list : myself. ASCD was good to deal with over the phone, and the hood came in and was "one of the best hoods" my body shop guy has seen. I'm satisfied and would buy from ASCD again.

Everybody who jumped on the man:
I can't even begine to explain the disappointment i have in my fellow thirdgenners....like another member said....I feel alot less at home here now.

Hey Rex,

Thanks for doing what you can to make this right. I really admire you professional mannerism (sp?) in handling the situation. It shows your character that has been described time and time again over the past few years. I give you 2 thumbs up.

shew glad that is over

Well i;'m glad someone real won the hood,

i feel that the mistake here was mostly the fault of the fool that created the members name last night. Blew the entire thing out to lunch....wish i new who that was....

Cudo's Rex for the free hood and congrats 89 iroc was it? any way congrats to the winner! don;t forget pics.....

I think future raffles should be held using a message.. everyone that wants in posts there e-mail in the box and nothing else, easy to see who is in and who is not, gives you an easy list to pick from. and maybe the mods could help by deleting posts that don;t follow the instruction.

don;t we all feel like fools now? i know i do.....

Rex,
I'd also like to express my relief that this whole mess is over with. It truely does take professional character to do a free product raffle, AND still be generous enough to handle it in a professional way. I think we all appreciate this chance to win a free hood. Thanks!

Wow didnt check the boards for a whole 30 hours or so and look what happens. You should all be ashamed of yourselfs for treating Rex like that...shake hands and make up! Ok so is Rex getting someone to draw again for another hood just cause the first person didnt respond quickly? Im confused..that doesnt seem like he should do it....but...I cant tell him not to cause that means I still have a chance!!!

P.S. You know your broke when your sitting in front of Coinstar yelling "Come on Big Money! Big Money!"

man I have been following al of this and not responding till now and all I can say is that Rex deserves an apology from alot of people. I want to apologize for the way the others have been acting on this board and that I hope this doesnt drive you away Rex I for one need a new hood and will someday, money allowing, will be purchasing one from you. I dont think its right to jump to a conclusion the way most people did which is why I just sat back and watched everyone to see how this all worked out but I couldnt wait any longer because Rex deserves an apology and even though I didnt say anything I feel the the profesionalism of this message board went south real quick. Rex I again apologize for everyone on here and their actions I just hope this doesnt disrupt any further contests and/or sales to anyone on this site.

Thanks for hearing me out but I just had to let it out holding it in was getting on my nerves.

Thanks again,
Travis Gilmore (meridius)

One thing I'd like to point out, and hopefully someone has done this.....

To all the prosecuters of Rex's "scam" .....

Go back and post links to this thread on all the other message boards that think Rex is no good.

Do it NOW!!!!

The band wagon is just way too easy to jump on. All concerns of mine revolving around this problem have been more then satisfied. I apologize for having my hand in making the problem worse. I would consider purchasing from you guys in the future although i do still have a few issues that would seriously concern me, none of them revolve around this issue.

Though I do not post much, but do lurk quite a bit and have been around TGO since 98, I'll be the first to say that when I was given a link to the original post about the raffle winner, it seemed fishy when the impostor wowcolor posted and it made Rex and ASCD look dishonest, but I decided it was too early to judge and that it just "looked" like we were being shafted. I am glad I didn't let it get the best of me, because I would feel really bad about i; Hell, I feel bad for thinking it as I'm sure alot of us do.

I feel the impostor wowcolor, who is largely responsible for creating the lynch mob mentality, should own up to his mistakes and accept whatever ppunishment this site sees fit.

Like others have said, Thanks for supporting thirdgenners Rex, and I hope people will spread the good word about you as easily as the "bad word".

That said, congrats to 89 Iroc Z, but dammit, I needed a hood for my TA

Just my .02

I was really excited about this board for the longest time, a lot of good technical information here, then reading through the boards several times a week, but what has transpired the past couple days really astonished me. For one I had read 90% of all the posts that were posted regarding the hood raffle. And everyone jumped in saying wowcolors was not at fault while rex was, never understood that. When wowcolors was the cause of the problem by trying to pull a scam himself. So whoever you are wowcolors, you need to really think about what you did, and the bad name you gave to Rex Orr, ASCD, and this website. I am very dissapointed with my fellow thirdgenners here. Rex tried to do something good and give away a free hood, and one bad seed tried to pull a scam and look what happened. I went to other sites that were posted and now Thirdgen.org is going to be the site that is looked down upon, classified that we are "morons". Even now he still wants to give away another free hood to this site, why?? I sure as *ell don't know. In my opinion, that should not be done, because of what many on this board did, and they do not deserve to be given another chance, but that is just my opinion.

And now I think I might need to find another site to be a member of. Sad things had to go this way.

89 Iroc Z.....Congrats on the new hood, I am glad someone got it that deserved it.

Rex Orr...
I am truly sorry for what others have said, and hope nothing bad comes out of this as far as your business sales. You are a great business person for handling this the way you did. If i ever get my project near completion, and need a hood, I will be contacting you.

Man what a ride...it was something like a movie,,,there where so many ways in my head of how this will end..but this wasnt one of them...pretty messed up!!

I feel like i owe you an apoligy Rex for ever thinking you were pulling a fast one. I'm Sorry Man!!!
I did clear up the two other posts where ive spoke of this mix up...so hopefully things can return to normal without any neg effects from this cr@p!!!

But on a side note "will the fake wowcolor please stand up" cause IF it was me, I'd be comeing out of the dark and fessing up!!!!

It reminds me of this summer when someone at my work decided to write on my irocs bupper in the dirt saying "wash me Jeff!!!" and scratched all my clear so much that you could read it plain as day after i cleaned the dirt off. So i wrote a note posting it at work telling the unknown person to come forward and that I wouldn't try to make them pay for it.......and guess what??? NO ONE fessed up and it sucks when something bad happens to you and one coward cant be a man and come out and try to make things better by a simple apoligy!

Good luck to eveyone in the next rafle and I feel bad that rex is doing this again after what happend the 1st time ,,,,,,,but it shows he is a good person!!!

First off, I also want to apologize to Rex for juming the gun on this whole thing. I was wrong for doing it and I feel bad for some comments I made. I am really glad this whole thing got sorted out, and congrats to the REAL winner, 89 Iroc Z.

For everyone saying that we are all idiots for bashing him and accusing him of the "scam", you have to admit it looked fishy. He posted a winner who wasn't even a member until this whole thing started. The member happened to type much like Rex and then started claiming he was in on this "scam". It is hard to look at all that and not be suspicious.

Yes, things should have been handled differently. The first thread should have been locked before all that lynching even started and we should have waited for Rex to explain it all before jumping on him. But what happened has happened and it is over now.

Thank you Rex for what you tried to do and I am sorry it turned into such chaos. Hopefully the second raffle will turn out better.

Now I am locking this because it is over. I know a bunch of us owe Rex an apology. Those can be taken to PMs and emails.
