Pics of the rs with gs fender stripes

Got the grand sport fender hashes done and went out for a nice lil cruise to take some pics. I used black vinyl i had for them. Thinking of doing them silver but i figured until the car gets painted i want to play with some ideas. I'm considering having the full grand sport striping package done but not sure yet.

I really like how they came out they don't seem to have as severe as an angle as the vette's did but they look good on the car and give it a racy look.

If you don't like em dont post about how they dont belong on a camaro or whatever i read some old post about that but i liek how they turned out and its my car. Worse comes to worse i can peel them off.

Hmmmmmm.....I think I like 'em.

...I dunno about the future center stripe. I think I'd leave 'em like you have them.

I think it looks really good. They are just the right width and are perfectly masked and centered. I think that adds a unique touch that separtaes your car from other peoples. I don't see a problem with the GS stripe because you are not calling it a GS. It is not as controversial as the 3rd gen SS. Good job on the color selection as well. I give it an A.

i dont mean to be a critic but i think your car would look sweet if it was lowered pretty low with those rims and then had a 5inch spoiler.

Awesome

Whats the point of those stripes though? I always see them on Corvettes and Cobras, but I never knew what they were for? It just cuz they look cool, or is there a reason?

I gotta say nolan i think this could be one of the few times i agree with what u say. I am planning on keeping the rims i want to have em chromed though and keep the teal back and inserts of the wheel teal maybe powder coated. The 5" spoiler is in the mail maybe another week or too before it is in my hands.

And i really want to put her on air ride. it's gonna take some time seeing as how no one makes an airbag setup for these but i love that on the ground look. Currently working on installing the bags on my buddies turbo cav before he comes back form over seas. He go tthat new shockwave setup from air ride tech. ANd it is bad ***. Now looking at the jongbloed hood again from hawks to finish it off

I read somewhere that back in the day liek 62 or so chevy had a team with a few vettes painted the same color and they got confusing with the look a likes so they put these stripes on them to tell them apart. I think it was some corvette fact or fiction site or something liek that.

Personally i just want something that stands out and i think they look cool

Sweet, I was considering that style of stripes before I had the car painted, but obviously went with the lower ones. Looks good

yeah id say both sides but i have a real thing for symmetry so dont mind me. The spoiler would look amazing, and i would buy a new hood unless you need to hawks is coming out with 2 new ones and im anxious to see those.

On a pointless note i think the car would look good lowered in the front, 5" spoiler on the back, E/T streets and a drag race type scoop on the front

When are the new hawks ones coming out. I'm really interested in the jonbloed hood. I think with the spoiler combined with that hood it would be more of moddin gthe stock lines than blowing em with a cowl hood.

I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but I actually like it. I think you should keep them black, they look better that way than I think they'd look silver. Just my opinion though.

I think silver stripes would look good on my car (Purple), Blue, black, maybe red too. The black looks just right on the teal though.

The Iroc/louvered hood would set the black off nicely. Heck, it looks good with the RS hood.

One thing that I think too many people do is to do toooo many "cool/subtle" mods that end up cluttering the car. I think the Jongbloed hood can stand alone on it's own merit, it doesn't need the GS stripes. I wouldn't put the hood on the car with those stripes.

BTW....when was the last time everyone actually liked a certain mod?

Good job, good choice, good thread!!!

Dude i told devianb the other night on aim that i would have to take pics from the passenger side of the car to keep all the thirdgen guys happy. I figured it would end up being everyone hating it and end up with a closed post. I dont know if i'm more shocked that they look good or everyone likes it. I think i made up my mind to have them painted on the car when it goes for paint. I think a real glossy black would look good the vinyl is liek a semi gloss now. I think i may scrap the middle stripe idea. MAybe devian can post a pic of the silver rs with the jonbloed hood and maroon stripe like he showed me because the combo is sick. But maybe just the hood with no center stripe.

In all honesty my mind is going to change 4 times a day before it finally goes to the body shop so i'm not etching any ideas in stone yet.

It's kinda funny all the 4th gen boys on coloradof-body.com hated it. lol
Thanks for the comments guys

hmm.

I've always wanted to add the hashes to my RS, and since they look so good on your ride now all I have left to consider is...would they be too much "wanna be vette" with GS wheels?
