Blinginest Bowtie Grill ... EVER!

Or atleast thats what I thought the end result would be when I cut up a Denali grill to stick behind my Z grill. But it actually looks kinda mean. I still have to clean up a little silicone but its startin to grow on me. What does everyone else think?

I've never been much for that kinda thing, but for one of those... it doesn't look bad at all.

Although I think I would have painted the mesh stuff behind it black so it wouldnt interfere with the denali design.

eh i was debating between the stamped mesh and the stretched mesh and i went with stretched in the end. I think the stamped stuff you have up looks allright but not as good as stretched.

I'm not sure what exactly your talking about... But the grill is an aftermarket piece for GMC's thats lazer etched out of stainless steel.

As for painting the grill mesh behind it... I was thinking of trying black or maybee body color, but I'll mess around with it later I've got too many projects going on right now. So it will stay like that for a bit.

Yes, I noticed that also. VERY clean. Which reminds me, I think mine have these lame red lenses the previous owner installed, I've *got* to get rid of those.

Sorry i assumed it was stamped i didnt know it was laser etched but either way it ends up looking the same, and if thats not completly correct, then it looks the same from more then 5 feet away.

The only picture i have of the stretched mesh i have is pretty hard to see it.

I know exactly what he's talking about

The correct terms are perforated, and expanded.

Here's perforated. It's actually cut out of a sheet.

Here's expanded. little slits are cut in the sheet and then it's stretched, or "expanded".

Yes they are finally clean, but only because there new. I tried the cut the **** out of it and glue some plexiglass on top and paint it so you dont notice it mod but it didnt look right so I bought some new ones off eBay, only like $60 or so and do wonders for the front end.... if anyone can spot the 8 other mods to the front end you..might get a prize lol

I dont think I could bare to put one on even if it was required by law... some of the other stuff on my car isn't exactly "legal" either but its nothing I've ever been pulled over for yet :fingers crossed:

Tom I got them off of ebay. There are a few different aftermarket ones made.. but the pictures of these looked even clearer than the OEM's. If I recall correctly these were made by a company called Pasco. Anyways here is a link for another auction of a set from the guy I bought them from, I think I recieved it like 2 days after the auction so I would definately reccomend him. They ended up being like $70 shipped or so, a little pricey but I dont know that youll find any cheaper

I had expanded metal in mine before I cut down an S-10 billet grill and fit it into mine, I've never been pulled for having my plate in the windshield, Just warned once at a roadcheck while they were writing a ticket for exhaust and lenses!

Do you have any pics of the billet grill? I was looking at those too but I got this alot cheaper than I could find one of those for.

Dont have any recent pictures...But, here is one from June. Got the grill in a truck which I sold for what I paid for it, So I figured, Why not? got the outside bars off, and cleaned it all up, And then payed $40 for the polished bowtie...

Slow - NICE I would definately rather have that then a Trenz, there too bent and look unnatural. I do prefer my bowtie and setup right now, but I'm of course a little partial .. If I ever get a vert play toy I might try your set up for the grill tho

Hey I like your emblem deletes too, did you take the front turn signals out as well? I eventually wanna delete all that stuff on this car but have upgraded for the present moment.

Actually, I had made Billet grill covers for the parking lights with the left over pieces for the grill, But I lost one on the interstate, So I took the other one out, And then tried something else and tinted the front parking lights. I already had flat clear lenses I made out of lexan, So tinting them was easy.

Your car looks real nice man, dont know why your selling it. But in the future could you please keep advertising in the classifieds.
