C6 Rims

Before anybody says anything, I've been searching for about 30 mins and cant find anything. Im thinking about getting some C6 chrome wheels and was wondering if anybody has a picture of them on a third gen just so I can see what they look like before I get them. I'm worried the spokes might look too thin on a thirdgen. Thanks!

Grizzlee,

How wide are those wheels? and what size adapters did you have to use to get them to fit?

also what are the tire sizes you have on there?

thanks
Matt

dang u must be loaded. how much did you get them for?

oh and another thing, the rear wheels are 20 inch, i hope that wont give the car a rake. how much lower profile can you go in the back... i wonder if 4 front wheels would work

EDIT: you can get 19x10.5, still seems a little too big for my tastes

what size tires did you get? it will mess up your speedo if you dont get the same overall diameter. i just saw an auction for 17x8.5 and 18x10.5 wheels, if i get wheels, those would be it

would 17x8.5 be too wide up front? dont the tires rub even if you have 255/50/16 tires up front

My tires are Nitto 555's 17"s 255/45 and I do believe the rims are 8.5 (all the way around) with 2" spacers (Skulte Performance Designs - Skulte Performance Designs) no problems, I have to change out the speedo gears though (already have them from 700R4.COM - Bowtie Overdrives)

And for you Canadian Third GENERS my wife found this place where we bought the wheels and tires (wheels mounted, balanced, free shipping "at least in B.C." and free tire wrench)

17x9.5 is the widest you can get i believe

EDIT: i just got an email back from Bones Enterprises (they sell the C6 wheels in many variations on ebay) and they gave me a link eBay Motors: 17 CORVETTE CAMARO FIREBIRD CHROME C6 RIMS WHEELS TIRES (item 250013954645 end time Aug-30-06 19:35:18 PDT) this seems like a very good option for me (17x8.5 front, 17x9.5 rear) im going to ask if i can get them without tires mouted because im sure i can find tires on my own and more suitable to my needs. would these rub up front? 17x8.5 with a 255/45/17????

Nice choice. I went with the C6 Z06 wheels in 18x9.5 w/ 275/35/18 and a 2.25" spacer.

I just ordered the c6 package from bones as well.

I am very concerned about the unsprung weight of these rims. I have seen on the corvette boards that these wheels are very heavy compared to stock camaro rims. Has anyone noticed a bit of performance loss in acceleration with these wheels? If these rims are even 10lbs heavier that is 10 x 4 wheels times 4 = 160lbs weight increase to your car. I think that they look great but i dont want any performane loss. I wish I would have looked into this a little more before I purchased.

actually they look like they are just inside the lip of the fenders... and wheel width has nothing to do with how far out your wheels sit out from your car. BTW the C6 Z06 wheels are my favorite vette wheels, love those wheels.

one thing you might want to consider about the 18x9.5 c6 ZO6 motorsport replica rims, they weigh 32 lbs a piece.

Yes the wheels, is it the lighting or are they some sort of darker grey color?

Lol, my bad You can only get the Z06 knockoff's in chrome or "hyper silver". Mine are obviously hyper silver. It depends on the light, but they can get pretty dark. I'm seriously thinking about getting them powder coated a lighter grey color to match more of a aluminum look.
