thanks, basically bored with it, after i got the motor done its like all i do now is shine it and show it, thats fun but i like the buildup, so i woke up a week or so ago and called my dad and said hey my rs is for sale, i accomplished what i wanted to do with it, i broke the barriers for what was reasonable for a street car, and now its done....i am planning a 91-92 vert that i'll have to do bigger and better(hint blown 406 LT1 ), my gut told me to buy it when everyone said it wasnt worth the money and i was in over my head, i proved em wrong and now my guts telling me its time to get another one rolling
I'm sure i'll regret it but theres always another one

Right on man... I too truely believe most of the fun is building it, the other part of the fun is enjoying it in each stage as it gets better and better. When its done.. then what?

I'm sure your next project will be another jaw dropping head turner, I can't wait to watch its progress

I am still amazed that you are selling it Paul!!! You just got that thing running good, and now you are gonna ship it before you even get a summer of fun with it!! If you get the money that you are asking for it you will be able make a great start on the next project!

its the hawks 5"

I had done the 355 shortly after the 305 build, i kinda dissappeared from here for a bit and never got a chance to post it up, then this past winter i tore it down again after she started getting some noise down low, had some tore up bearings so its been redone again...

I put it on craigslist for 23k to see what would happen, i figured its a bit high for the cars for sale but not for what i have invested, stuff in fair shape is going for around 7k out here, and that one needs paint, and to my suprise i recieved 14 calls within 8 hours and have had 6 folks come to look at it in the matter of 2 days!!!!

oh yea its was worth it, off the top of my head i cant remember the head gasket thickness but with the 305 built heads the car has massive torque, i can tap the gas and let off and blow the tires....i should say tire off, even with the 2.73 gears its blowing the doors off tpis and vettes from lights its incredible, if it doesnt sell i will toss a posi and a set of 3.73's in it and take it to the track....i'll be honest it feels like a low to mid 13 second car now, its not even close to the same!!!!

This john guy doesn't know what he's talking about...

That is one stellar car dude, I hope you get what your asking!

I built a 355 in my old GTA with ported 305 heads and it was frickin' quick for what was used. Ported heads, TPI, forged bottom end, LT4 hotcam etc. It went like stink once that pedal dropped, took out a few modded fox bodies before I sold it.

Have you had the car appraised? It's too bad that you are selling the car, I hope you get what you are asking or even close to it...but like you I'm in the same predicament...I spent a ton of $$$ on my car because I wanted to build in the way that I wanted the car, hence why I will never sell the car...we will never get the amount of money we spent on our cars back. I say keep it for now but you never know maybe some day a rich kid that wants it really bad will pay the money or daddy will.

Stop argueing over what his car is worth. He didn't ask for an opinion on it and you aren't interested in buying it.

easy boys, i put the money into this car because it is what i wanted to do, i coul dhave put 35k into a honda, and wouldnt have been as fast or as clean, i built it for me and a late friend, its what we wanted....its not low miles, or rare, hell it was in bad shape when i bought it, but i feel i can get 23k for MY car and in evidence to the response i have gotten from 1 ad on 1 website, it looks good to pull that money, people want this type of caliber car without having to do the work themselves, this is why folks like chip foose and coddington can make the money they do, the majority of the people coming to see it our not high school kids or joyriders they are people i'd say in the 40+ year old range, that had a car but never this nice or dont have the skill to build a car like this, the midlife crisis crowd is who is going after this car, now no one has shown the cash yet but you never know, i have a good friend who has been after this car since the open element went on it, he only has 16k to his name, i told him if it didnt sell in a few weeks i may take his 16 as i know it be going to a good home, you dont think its worth the money, fine dont buy it, come out and take a look at the car in person before you start harassing, trust me even the best pics dont do the car justice

The red one is a harwood, i think 2.5",
83 ta 5spd, thats now my desktop!!!!

Re: 3 91's

Wow!!! This thread has really turned ugly from what was orginally a thread showing 3 friends and what they are proud of. We can all just sit back and let the market, and Pauls great work with the car ultimatley decide what kind of money he can get for HIS car. If Paul ends up getting 23k out of his car we should a clap and throw a party, cause that is a great sign for the rest of us that do more than keep ultra rare low mileage cars stuffed in corner of a garage, we CAN get money for clean modified ordinary Camaros!

Paul best of luck to you on the sale I hope you get everything you are asking for it!!!

Beautiful cars! 91 is my favorite year.

How about the truck in the garage? It looks like a double of my truck, a black C10 from the 73-87 model run... any more pics or info on it?

Re: 3 91's

wow turned really ugly, all imma say is you are more than welcome to come to colorado anytime and see it in person, i'll even give you a couch to sleep on...

As for the car i have decided to hold onto it and continue building it, i know to you guys i'm wasting my money but to me i'm not so too bad, gonna order the rearend stuff this weekend then hopefully sometime this summer have a multiport setup on it and i ultimately decided i want to run twin pro chargers before next year, its gonna cost and theres quite a bit of fab involved but its what i have decided.....

so lemme ask this do you guys ride kandied like this when he post pics of his car, i've never seen his in person and hope to someday but i would guess i am up around the level of car as his, adn i bet he has way more money than i do into it with brakes and suspension and whatnot

teh truck is i believe a 74, its got a 502 crate motor through 3" straights.....it sweet

Good job with hanging onto the car. Looking forward to updates.

What color blue is that? Cars look great. But must say like yours the best. If i was you I would keep in for the summer that sell it. I don't know how many cars i have done than sell them right before summer starts. Than I'm stuck out in the garage all summer and no cool car to drive. lol But if u can get what u want or more for it let it goooooooooooooo
