Door Handle Inserts
I am looking to see if anyone knows where I can get a set of door handle inserts for my 1992 Trans Am. I know that years ago, there used to be a company that would make an insert to go into gap in the outer door handle for cosmetic purposes. I have searched all around and can't locate them anymore. Does anyone know of a company that currently makes these, or have a set available?

good luck, it took me months to track a set down. seems they've become very rare. just keep checking the parts board, thats where I got mine (someone was parting out a car so I asked and they had em). also I see sets going on ebay for big money.

which ones are you talking about? I see the "fuel injection" ones getting pretty good money. a new set always goes well over $200, but Ive never seen a used set on ebay, but here on the boards they get around $40.

The doors on my 89 I parted out has them.

No pics, but I thought they said PONTIAC. Dunno.

I know there were at least three different versions for what they said.
"Pontiac"
"Firebird"
"Trans Am"
and from what another user has told me "Fuel Injection" I search eBay and not been able to find them for sale. If anyone knows of where to get either the "Pontiac" or the "Trans Am" version please let me know.

When have you seen them on ebay, and what are you using for the search? I have checked eBay multiple times and have yet to see them for sale on there.

Wow, I remember getting these at the old Western Auto stores for like 5 bucks a set, along with door lock protectors too...now they are a dinosaur with the price of a space shuttle! Dang...those were the days I guess....
