Post Pics Of Your Chrome Wheel Spinners!!!
About 10 years ago there used to be a guy around here that had chrome wheel spinners on his GTA. I loved the look of those wheels!!!! He sold the car and I never saw it again.
I wanted to see what it looked like on other GTA's..... (Mine's Flame Red)
Does anybody know where to get them by any chance? Just out of curiosity...

Re: Post Pics Of Your Chrome Wheel Spinners!!!
yeah you can get them on any SUV or p.o.s car that is lifted to accommodate them...seriously if your going to put spinners on a gta please just sell your car and get a crap car and spend more on rims than you do the car.....if your going to do that just sell your car its a disgrace.

Re: Post Pics Of Your Chrome Wheel Spinners!!!
Wait a minute...... I'm serious when I say that the chrome spinnner looked good in the gold laced GTA rim.
The chrome outer ring with the chrome spinning center looked great / even at a standstill!!!. I know most cars look cheap with them but this didn't!!!!!!

im sure he means the 3 spoke old school spinners not the dub, tis or the mht spinning wheels...... and not every person on this board shares your point of view so keep your head opened wide because some of those "P.O.S" are built in a flawless manner. now if he meant those 24" wheels which he did not f-it is his car right!!

Wow.... I wasn't talking about blinged 22"s with a rotating outer plate! & I wasn't looking for opinions either!!!!
I wanted to know if someone had pics of a knock-off center cap 3 spoke spinners on their GTA. Don't knock it until you've seen it.

Re: Post Pics Of Your Chrome Wheel Spinners!!!
OK....Now the he posted what he was referring to, lemme clarify for everybody.
Those small 3 spoke ones do not spin/rotate, like "dub spinners" do.
The term "spinner" was ORIGINALLY a reference to the 3-spoke design. When quick-change wheels were put on, like NASCAR-type quick change.....The wheels did not use 5 lug nuts. They used 1 LARGE nut (3-spoke spinner) to hold the rim onto the hub. Basically, the spindle nut was what held the wheel on.
THAT is what he was referring to by "spinners". The 3-spoke design only pops in like a standard center cap & DOES NOT ROTATE/SPIN. It stays stationary, in reference to the rim face.
With that said...I can kinda see what he was referring to. With the car driving, the gold wheel would have the polished lip & then a polished/chrome center. In motion, the 3-spokes would create a single silver circle. Still not sure I'd like such a large silver center, but who knows? It might look good. And as long asHE likes it, that's what counts.
Unless he meant 22" dub with those BIG modern spinners, then yeah... OUR opinion matters more! (but i know he didn't mean that)

I'm talking about the knock off "INDY" center caps on post #8 Guys....
It's funny how a 30+ yr old know will know what I'm talking about and a 16 yr old kid thinks I'm wanting pics of some hubcap that spins while the rim isn't moving (PUKES IN MOUTH)
Anybody out there find any pics? I haven't been able to find any nice ones that are third gen related.....

Re: Post Pics Of Your Chrome Wheel Spinners!!!
I can't say that I have ever seen them on a more modern car but put them on a 67' vette with a 427/435 and you have a piece of art.

Re: Post Pics Of Your Chrome Wheel Spinners!!!
You can't blame anyone when you say "Post Pics Of Your Chrome Wheel Spinners!!!" it's like a neon sign saying "i'm about to make a thirdgen into a pimp-rust-moible". Sorry
I think they'll look good. I wanted to put them on my camaro when I had my other rims. I figured that our cars have a older look to them to pull it off but I never got to do it.
best idea is to get a side shoot of your car and photoshop them on. If you don't have photoshop, post the picture and i'd be happy to do it for you or someone else can do it.

Re: Post Pics Of Your Chrome Wheel Spinners!!!
Maybe someone could photoshop one of the above links onto the GTA rim... I'm looking for a chrome center piece...
I guess this is the closest we can get until the appropriate member (somebody with Chrome 3 spoke knock-off center caps on a Gold GTA rim) sees it
for taking the time guys

Re: Post Pics Of Your Chrome Wheel Spinners!!!
Thanx RS Reaper, but the wire rims don't do the idea justice..... it was the best picture that I had found though.
Is there any way to photoshop the 3 spoke spinners from post #8 onto those GTA Rims, maybe then some would get the idea......
Maybe I'll just end up goin over to the guy that had the original GTA with the chrome centercaps...... he should have a picture somewhere I'm sure. The car was a 9/10!!!!
Thanx for the help.

I love the attacks before anyone knew what he was talking about...
Anyway, for those knock offs, you can probably get them from American Racing, but I found these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1-CAR...mZ180294414501 on eBay.

Yeah, they're not for me, but everyone's got different tastes. If you like them, I'm sure you could find some pretty cheap on eBay.

Re: Post Pics Of Your Chrome Wheel Spinners!!!
Thanks RS Reaper for taking the time to photoshop that stuff for me.
The center section on the GTA rims have a 3 1/8th" outer diameter so I'll have to find something with the same diameter to fit over the top.... The only knock of spinners I've found so far are 3"
I don't know if I'll ever get those spinners but I figured that I would find somebody here with a picture of them....
If I ever do get them, I'll be postin pics and be the first. Thanx once again guys!!!!

Re: Post Pics Of Your Chrome Wheel Spinners!!!
Maybe it's the color scheme that has ruined it for ya.....? Maybe it was on the wrong car, a Camaro and all....
Maybe it was the red with chome and gold that did it for me......? On a slightly different body line, being the GTA... I don't know...? Like I said it was 10 years ago.....
I wouldn't mind seeing the pictures though.

Re: Post Pics Of Your Chrome Wheel Spinners!!!
Opps i totally misunderstood ya...!
I thought that this particular GTA looked sweet too.... The outside diameter of the GTA center is 3 1/8th" Unfortunately the American Racing spinners don't have dimensions on the Summit site.
I'm still interested in the Camaro pics just the same......

here is a pic of my 1st 3rd gen. Picture is from 1988 so the photo detail is low, but it had the 3 spoke spinners and I loved them.
