Re: should i put a z28 spoiler on my car?

if you personal like that style then you should the only draw back is that you will have to drill i believe four more holes on the rear hatch to mount it right and the you will have three holes on each side of the car to fill from where the spolier is on the side down by the tail light

you could also go for a hawks 5 inch spolier its a different look so it will be noticed but just like your hood its a love or hate thing with people on this website as well

In my experience any third gen that's not a rusted out P.O.S. is enough to make people go WOW.

As for the spoiler, no stock spoiler is going to look "extreme" lol but the high rise Z28 is IMO the most eye catching without being over the top. Aftermarkets are hard to pull off and I've never seen one that doesn't look out of place.

I think your best bet would be to get her cleaned up then update the wheels and tires. Less is more

well actually lol i have already updated the wheels lol i had white rs 15s on it. my sig pic is a dirty pic. i wanna put black zo6 motorsport wheels 17s on it. so u think i should put the z spoiler on it like yours? also, paint the headlight sockets?

my other visual plans are clear corners and fronts. so if that affects anyones opinion

Re: should i put a z28 spoiler on my car?

i honestly think a z28 or iroc isnt a real z28 or iroc without the 5" spoiler. when i think iroc or z28 i think racing. when i think racing i think big spoilers. not wings. spoilers. thats why i hate the high rise wing on the back that most these cars have. the way these cars flow from front to back with the body lines the spoiler is the best thing thats happened to this car.

plus i love those wheels. wouldnt like them on MY car, but i do like them on your car. i like the deep dish.

hmm, funny you should say that because when I think racing I think of the later 1LE's and Canadian Players Challenge cars, most of which have the highrise! to each his own definitely applies here ha. But for the record, NONE of the factory spoilers/wings create any usable downforce under normal driving conditions. And I'm pretty sure the Hawk's would do more harm than good with lots of drag.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I don't really care for the 5 inch. It really only looks good from one or two angles (have you ever seen a shot straight on from the rear?! ) not to mention the gaps stand out horribly if they aren't right.

On the other hand, you could look into making your own 3 inch? I forgot to mention there is a post on here where someone details making their own 5 inch out of fiberglass. That would give you a more aggressive than stock look, without hanging the old hawk's park bench off the back. Id say that or the highrise, but as others mentioned I don't know if the Z28 wing would flow right with the daytona hood. decisions decisions lol

Re: should i put a z28 spoiler on my car?

i agree that the 5-inch spoiler might not help you to much, but if your just looking for "looks" then i think the 5 inch is the way to go. it just looks more aggressive. of course i am a traditional roundy round kind of guy.. yeah nascar lol. maybe it explains it. my favorite look i think, is the wide body fenders, the 5-inch spoiler, the 91-92 GFX and the 4-inch cowl. the wide cowl, not the skinny one that only takes up a 1/3 od the hood. lowered 2 inches all the way around. my favorite car

Wow, your so smart. Dude, the high rise wing was only stock on the 91 and 92 z28. That's not most of these cars. Anyway, I love the looks of the high rise spoiler, but at the same time, you don't really want to be copying a z28. Then you might look like a wannabe. The 5 inch might look cool. But i'm not a huge fan. As was said earlier, sometimes less is more. I have a similar problem, my front end is too boring lol. So i'm getting a hood

i was TALKING about the 91-92 z28. i love the 91 and 92 cars, but i hate the damn spoiler. every picture of a 91 92 with that spoiler looks like sh*t. dont be a smart a$$ when you dont even know what i was talking about. thats why im really startin to get sick of this website because people on here just bash people for NO reason. if i you wanna pick on somebody and make them feel like a idiot that knows nothing about cars, then go back to high school. you just sound just like a retard.

yeah no problem. but im not really trying to down 91z28. i think this site is like a buch of ppl hanging out just talking and i wouldnt want to see an argument there so why on here thats all. so 91z28 not trying to say "hey stop that" because its really not my place to say. just my $.02

but back to subject. you guys think the 5inch? it will make it stand out, but in a good way?

Re: should i put a z28 spoiler on my car?

The 5 in spoiler will give you more stability at top speeds. Its 5 in in the air at the end of the car and at high speeds i think it will be better stability than the lil 2 in stock one. Also looking better on the car. But who drives top speeds all the time lol. just a thought.
