Re: April COTM ** WINNER **
question for you how did you manage to get the clearance in the rear wheel wells to not bottom out the second you hit any dip in the road, you are about 2 inches lower than mine is and I'm running 18x11 295/35/18's in the back of my 91 vert at factory ride height I only had 2 inches of travel before tires went into the bottom of the roof box. Ours are lower than the hard tops. So needless to say I'm interested in knowing how you pulled it off!
Thanks

Dude thats one of the sickest looking 3rd gens I've seen! Keep up the good work! Maybe a late 4th gen IPC swap in the future? (dunno if thats even possible but it would add a lot IMO).

Question for Mr. Iroc Z. What did you do to your parking lights/turn signals in the front to get them that gloss black? Can you still see them when lights are on and the blinkers being used? And the center console..did you fab the fabric yourself?

The center console is wrapped in suede. Right now I am at a crossriad as to what direction I want to take the interior. I want to keep it simple, yet custom.

Hey there, we used a combination of black paint and clear to spray the lights. It took two or three times to get down the perfect ratio. You can still see the some of the parking light when it is on. I would say that 50% of the light still comes through.

I lived in San Diego for 24 years and always had a dash cover. You can order yours below and at some of the auto parts stores including JC Whitney, check around for the best price and delivery, and yes they do keep the dash from cracking. I also clean it and use pledge on my 'vert dash once a month....No cracks so far!

In line with the thread..Awesome looking car! As a low mileage all original black IROC vert owner, I like the looks of yous better. It looks great!

This car is awesome. Great job on it so far. Hey where did you get the 6-speed shifter plate/ boot for your center consol? I have a 92 vert that I've had a for while and looking to upgrade. Same with the wheels? I always see chromed 17"+ irocs but not painted. Did you buy chromed one and then have them painted?

Re: April COTM ** WINNER **
in 87 the convertable was introduced as a $5000 option, however no thirdgen car ever rolled off of a gm assembly line as a drop top, they were all outscourced to various companies such as ASC and lindenfelter to have the tops cut off and fitted for the convertable parts.

2:Junk yard - You may have to call junkyards all over the country that specialized in our cars. Try GM Sports Salvage. This is one that is located in San Jose, CA.
3: Check out the 'parts for sale' forum for someone that is parting out their car.

Re: April COTM ** WINNER **
LOVE your vert, excellent job ! . I would like to ask you if that hood is all steal and how did you do it (step by step LOL) , or is it fiberglass ?. Also if you have any close up pictures of the underside of the hood and also the underside of the car itself, please send or post them . Where did you get 18 inch stock single line rims ???? I figure you got the chrome 18's and painted them stock, I'am I right ? Just a great job on this car and can't stop looking back (every month) at your car, I think you should win again !

Thanks for the nice words about my car and I apologize for the delayed response. The hood is actually carbon fiber top with fiberglass bottom. I do not have a close up view of the underhood, but I could take some for you. The 18' iroc's can be currently purchased on EBAY. I believe you can get them in a polished finish. I had my wheels painted/polished, and widened.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Tommy
