I'm going on the granddaddy of them all road trips this summer (powertour) and want to know what I can do to protect the front bumper, hood and roof from all the bugs I will be killing on this 3500 mile journey I'll be taking? I have detailed the car and finished it off with three coats of wax but what can I use on these parts to help keep the bug stains off the car. I dont want to run a bra cause the car has factory paint on it and I dont want to damage it.

A front end bra will be a good start. Bugs wash off, chips don't. Try not to ride too close to the car yor are following.

I've never used it but I know there is clear film you can buy that you can cut to correct size and stick where you want to protect the paint from chips. When applied correctly it is nearly invisible. Not sure how hard it is to remove when you're done though.

Keep a wet rag with you, and every time you stop, go clean them off. I wouldn't wanna use a bra either, but don't think it will do anything damaging to your original paint, if not like it was said, they sell a film to go over the front. Don't know where to buy it though

ive got a 3m clear bra on my vette, invisable, installed myself, and u can wipe it off with windex or anything else. ive had the car back into and just wipped the scratch off with my thumb

Just take some Tar and Bug cleaner with you and clean it as often as you have to.I wouldn't use a Bra either their ugly!!!

Get a couple of cans of plastidip clear. Tape off an area of the front about equal with what would be covered by a bra. Spray about 5-6 coats of the plastidip over the front of the car. Take your trip.

Upon return, peel off! Simple, easy, effective and CHEAP. You should be able to do it all for under $20!

After looking it over I'll just clean it off when I get to the hotels. The front and rear bumpers need to be painted anyway. No better time than the end of the summer for that anyway.
