there was a cup holder posted on a board somewhere not too long ago. my suggestion is if you don't have power windows, cut a hole in the flat part of the console, and drop in a cheap cup holder from pep boys, one of them with the lip on the tops to keep it held in. or, a buddy of mine had a toyota pickup with bucket seats, we just used a roll of ductape on the floor, holds it good, lol. Good luck

Nope. They get in the way of the crank.

Your welcome for the suggestion, I just remembered seeing that tech article and I thought they looked good and simple to make too. Good luck and I'd be interested in seeing some pics of the finished product if you could post them when you are done.

Hey Stuart...where did you get the radio pod? I'm attempting to install a 96 console in my third gen, but the best I could do was hack up the old console so I could still mount the radio and heater controls. It looks hacked too....

Yours has some nice smooth lines....I like it ;-)

MotoGod,

Thanx for the compliament bro, the pod is from a thirdgen Firebird and they used the same one from 85 to 92, I Believe. I had to "hack up" my dash to fit it in there. As you can see, the driver side was cut up too much, i didn't have the console at the time, and did not know the precise angle to put the pod. I was going to replace the dash anyways...

Hmmm....I may have to look for one to see what I can do with it. The 96 console is a bit different from the 97+ one....so I had to hack off the cassette tape holder on the front of it. I was going to leave it there and build something custom out of plexiglass, but I gave up after 3 hours of scratching my head. I guess I'm just not creative enough ;-) hehehe

Or you can just go out and buy a nifty spillmaster and stick it on top of your console! As you can tell itll fit just about any size drink you can imagine

Looks are as important as function though Slayer...while your cupholder might work awesome...it looks ghetto ;-) hehehe J/K I actually thought of this...but I figured I'd knock it over with my elbow while shifting or driving.

The thing was like 5 bucks of course its ghetto looking! Its just a simple solution, doesnt bother me the way it looks, as far as shifting I don't come anywhere near it while shifting its at the back of the console, keep in mind that front peice sits back alot further than it does in that pic when theres actually a cup in there.

Those spillmasters are good quality, they will not fall off. Good stuff, i have seen many that just fall off. Though looks are very important, so i ditched my old console w/ the spillmaster and got my 99 T/A Console & 'Bird Pod.

I just bought one but cant find the receipt for the part # I'll keep looking.
Also, if you order from the dealer it will not come with that screw cover so make sure you order that when you order the holder and if I remember it didn't even come with the screws.
I think it was like $35.00 just for the holder.

...Man I can't believe I just admitted that.

Everyone should get a 4th gen console, I have one from a 99 and it has FOUR cupholders.

THe 93-97 ones have 1 and the 98+ have 4, you take a pick...
