Gradualtion Present?

Ok, my parents have given me a few options for graduation gifts:

1. IROC Rims from Bonyard wrapped in Tires of my choice

2. Carpet, Seat Covers, Dash Cap

3. ZR1 Rims ( For this option, I would have to buy the spacers myself, and my dad and step mother would cover the tires, otherwise I would propally just get cash from my dad, my mother and step dad want to do something, not cash)

If I Agree to the IROC rims and new tires as my choice, my Dad should send enough money for me to do my own Carpet, but what I'll do was Sound Deadening and find a set of Black Panels in the Bone Yards. If I want The ZR1's, that would be all I would get from both sets of parents. What do you guys think I should do?

I have the stock 15x7 rims and I hyrdoplane all the time I like both rims equally, the only flaw on either is that the IROC is only 16x8, but I could live with that.

I would either use 275/40/R17 or 255/50/R16s. I would love to have Eagle F-1's.

Opions?

Thats what I was wanting to do. Iroc w/ Eagles HP Ultra's or ZR1 w/ Eagles F1s.

If I get the IROC (like the poll is going) should be around $200 for the rims from a boneyard and the 255/50/R16s would be $144 a peice. I might have to buy the rims, but that is no biggie, cus i am hoping to get that much combined from others. THe only problem is that they are only 16s. THe Pro is that I should get enough money from my Dad/Stepmom to finish my interior.

IF I got the ZR1's, I would personally have to dish out the $316 for the spacers, My Dad and Step Mom would buy the 275/40/R17s which are $180 a peice, and my mom and Step Dad would pay for the rims if I can find a set for under $600 including shiping if applicable. If I went this way, that would be all I got, but these are awsome rims and are 17x9.

Yeh that would be sweet, but I can't seem to find a price, I know that make them according to www.goodyear.com. The 275/40/R17s are $180 a peice, so would assume its close to that. F-1s rule!!!!

I am thinking bout the Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 that go for $92 a peice, but I am debating...

check tirerack.com They usually have every size and tire made, most reasonably priced I've seen.

I would go with the silver zr1s not chrome. Never much cared for the IROC style wheels but thats just me. Wish I could talk my rents into new zr1s for a wedding present. I think sending us to vegas instead. Airfare and tourism stuff is so cheap these days. I dont think my g/f would go for that either... but honey!!!! she knows my car is my second baby. She found $1200 in dividends on a life policy that I had I never claimed. I am not allowed to spend it though.

It is a difficult descison. The carpet alone would cost 250.00 passenger and cargo area set. Dont have an idea as how much the seat covers would cost. The irocs 200.00+ and the cost of tires. I wish I could get a bad azz graduation present like this.Oh the envy.

OK i have decided to go with the IROC rims. Now its time to start searching for rims and a good place to buy the tires. (Mom/Step-Dad will buy this)

Then figure exactly what I want to do this the $1000 my Dad/Step-Mom is giving me. I know of seats and Carpet for a fact. Once that is done i'll go from there.

To make your decision even harder, I forget who it is, but some company makes 17" IROC wheels (chrome I think). You could probably find them by looking in magazines or searching google or something for 17" IROC wheels.

I really like the IROC's; I really like the ZR1's. My choice would be black ZR1's. Do the 11" ZR1's fit the back of our cars?

OK they sell it in 17x8 polished, but for them it would be $894 for the rims shipped, which then I wouldn't be able to the interior and it would put it in even playing field with the ZR1 (excluding the spacers)

If that were the case, it would be a even decision between the rims, and I was kinda likin the IROCs and interior, cuase the IROCs are more suited for the car and I got my interior finished too!

D@mn, more to think about, back to the drawing board...

i beleve the saying is "wider is better"
the after market irocs are only 17x8's not even wider than stock
irocs,if they were 17x9's or 10's that would be sweeeeeet especially if the were the 88 and up style two linersand yes i do
know of after markets coming in 17,18 and 20's but all 8" wide

I bought my passenger area carpet for $109, from http://www.1aauto.com . The carpet is made by ACC, who sells it for $160 at their website, http://www.accmats.com. In fact, when I got the carpet, it was shipped from ACC's warehouse, and got to me in 2 days. I received an invoice a week later from 1aauto.com, in an envelope. The carpet made such an improvement on my interior, wow!

I don't think a full set is really needed... how many people go in the hatchback area? Plus, how many times do we ourselves see the hatch area?

I found my original seats (found out later that they are trans am seats) in a junkyard'd 4 door Pontiac 6000 Station Wagon, S/E. I had to move the forward-tilt mechanism from my seats onto the wagon's seats, since the wagon had 4 doors, the seats didn't go forward. The seats bolted EXACTLY to my old seats' frame rails. I bought the seats for $10 each out of the yard! The guy told me "Think of it this way, if they work, they work, and if not, you don't bring 'em back." I said "You got a deal!" And I definately DID get a deal!

So point to note: Check ALL cars in the junkyard for bucket seats. If the seat bolt pattern matches that of our low-profile metal seat rails, the seats will work! (Ex, check out Pontiac Grand Ams, Buick Centuries, Oldsmobiles, Celebrities, etc. Cars like the Cavalier and Grand Prix use "roller" rails, and I never verified if the seat can be unbolted from those roller rails and fit to our rails- but it's still an option!)

ACC rules, defiantly getting from www.1aauto.com, but since I am changing the color of my interior, I am getting both I want either 4th en T/A Leather Seats or the 96 Dark Grey "Tiger Claw" Seats, just like the ones that just went on Ebay earlier today (see other post) But defiantly Black...

As far as the aftermarket IROC rims, see my earlier post. www.performancewheeloutlet.com sells them in 17x8, 18x8 and 20x* in crome or polished.

I think this is the first time I'd seen TomP post outside the V6 forum...

I just got my carpet in a few days back. It was an ACC, I only had to do minor mods to the center console hole and cut out holes for the studs for the seats.I love how it looks especially since I now have a center console in
