Krylon Fusion....

Anyone around here try to paint their plastic interior pieces. Krylon just came out with a product that bonds to plastic at a molecular level (thats what they say). Seems like a lot of people want to paint their interior plastic, including myslef. But, the paint out there sucks. Give this one a try if you are up to it

It comes out looking to shiney IMO. If they had a flat black i might give it a try again.

this shxt is crap. I put it on my arm rest pad and shift **** (as well as other things) but it gets sticky and comes off on your hand and clothes. I really feel like sending a big complaint in and asking for them to buy me a new shirt. That shxt is by far not cool. If you do it, don't use it on "high traffic" areas of your car. I'm sure a nice healthy coat of clear wouldn't hurt either.

BUT STILL, IT NEVER SAID IT BONDS TO THE MOLECULAR LEVEL OF MY HAND AND CLOTHES.

well 1st off u dont use fusion on vinyls it just dont work as well as any other paint other then some says works on vinyl like arm rests or is dye because it does just that stays stick and comes off.
i done all the black in my car w/ it its awesome stuff nice and rich and very shiny but if u dont want shine armor all it a few times itll dull down then.

it works ok on metals too and for carpet i dunno but not on vinyl any paint on them other then special kinds made for em stays sticky and wil get on ya.

I used the fusion and it came out fine. It isn't sticky or anything. of course I haven't taken it for a real drive yet because its not insured yet. The only problem is that some parts tend to chip easily. but thats solved with a clear coat.

I am going from red to black on my IROC interior and have used the Fusion stuff.

It is glossy, but to me it looks kewl. Its advertised as very scratch resistant and I don't know if I buy it. Maybe if you have about 10 coats on then sure.

Otherwise, its an ok product for plastic surfaces that you dont regularly touch. I will be buying black armrests and anything else that is red that will be touched regularly.

Make sure you clean your stuff PERFECTLY or it will fish-eye on you.
Overall worth the $3/can to paint plastics.

I tried it. I think it's crap. SEM paint is the only stuff that I trust.

Here's my LCD monitor install. The entire unit that the monitor is installed in is painted with the SEM interior trim paint, then polished:

As you can see in the pic, the painted piece looks exactly the same as the bare plastic piece beneath it.
