Need to know, what is best for interior color change, help>>>
Okay, currently my interior is bright red (stock 91 RS color). I liked it when I bought it a few years ago, however, now I am wanting to change it over to black, light or dark gray. Which ever is easier.
First question is:
I don't drive the car that much, so scuffing up the interior is not a big issue, that said, I will be trying to paint most of my interior over to the new color. I have seen many members do this with great success. So, what parts can I paint and which cannot I not (i.e. what interior parts will just flake if painted and which will stick best). I am sure I can keep the carpet and spray it, as I don't think the paint will come off the carpet easy. I know I can scuff up the hard plastic and it will stick good, but what about the weird meterial on the door skins??? That is like a rubber/fake leather, will the paint stick to that good or what?
For the most part I am sure painting all most everything will work, again, since I don't drive it but maybe 4 miles a week, getting in and out will not be a problem that leads to scuffing up the paint and allowing to weaken and flake off.
Anyone have experiance with this that can offer me some words of advice and or pics (not "only stupid white trash paint the interiors with interior paint, I am not looking for that at all, I am not whit trash and I will do this right so it looks just as good if not better then spending tons of money on new black or gray parts, so just advice thanks)...

Are you talking about the carpet and seats? It looks like you have all black plastic inside. I think if you just changed the seats, it would look nice with the red carpet.
I know some people have tried spraying the seats, but cloth dye is the best option. I don't have much experience with it though.

No, most of my interior is all red, red everything. I will be getting new seats, that is one of the items I will not be painting at all. I just need to know if carpet and door panels will take the interior die good or not???

whatever you do, dont use paint.. get some quality vinyl/plastic dye for your interior parts, it wont feel right, look right, or last with whatever paint you use

They have this new paint called Krylon Fusion that is supposed to be very durable for painting plastic. I used normal spray paint and it flaked off, so I went and bought all the black plastic pieces from a camaro at the junk yard for about $50
