We're not trying to dissuade you from trying things on your own, but trust us, tinting is a job best left to professionals. You usually can get a warranty with it, also, which is the best part, IMO.

Whatever you do, do NOT clean them with Windex!

I've done my own plenty of times. I have to scrape it each time I get a ticket for it being too dark, so might as well learn how to put it on also.

Just remember that there is a clear sheet attached to the film and it has to be removed prior to placing the side on the window.
If you put it on the window with the clear sheet attached it will bubble like crazy in a few days or so.

Take your door panels off when doing this so that you can take the film down an inch or so below the rubber liner at the top of the inside door panel.

Windows are easy. The hatch is another story.

can a hatch with defrost even be tinted? can you still use the defroster? i think you would end up with little gaps around each of the defroster grids.

Small bubbles, but they are very tiny and you can live with it. I think you can use your defroster after a month or so, but too sure. Check with a local tint shop.
