Anythign I should look out for? I have already done the seats and am about to start on the dash, side trims, and center console.

save all screws and bolts in their own respective sandwich bags, labled.. that helped me a lot

Since you have a digital camera ... takes pictures and docuemnt them. Will be a great reference when putting everything back in.

While Im thinking about it, do the 93 and newer rear seats fold down like 92 and older?

No, newer seats have a little tab on the back that you pull to get them to fold down.

And I should say "it" folds down since it is just one big piece?

My 97 seats fold down just like my orginal ones.

Just like everyone said above. Take pictures & use separate ziplock bags labeled for different screws & bolts. Take your time with everything & it will pay off when re assembly time comes around. Trust me!!!! lol!!

Be careful with the clips on the a pillars. use a small screwdriver to coax them out.

The absolute worst part about working on the car = the door panels.

OOOOOO MG I hate them. Im going to have to buy a new drivers side one soon since it is all screwed up already (cardboarding underneath it is falling apart).

Question on the center console - i have all the bolts to the upper layer piece unbolted (as well as the shifter ****). How do you get it to slide out with the parking brake lever in the way?

Well after some bending action (almost breaking it) I finally got it out. Hopefully there is an easier way when it goes back in.

Yea your handle should be able to go almost vertical then it will slide off you may want to lossen the cable for the install.

1989-92 don't have an adjustment at the equalizer yoke. I have found an easier method to get slack in the parking brake cable. You should be able to get enough slack to pull up the handle vertical by removing the parking brake cables from the hanger brackets in the tunnel above the driveshaft. Just remember to put them back into the brackets again after.

Any good places I should get carpet from? Id like to get something that is precut that I can just lay down and be done with it.
Should I replace the material underneath also (whatever it is called). Hopefully it comes in one whole package.
I dont think the rear carpet in the hatch needs replacing.

the stuff underneath is juke (spelling?) padding for sound cancellation/deadening whatever. if you want a super quiet inside you can put that or dynamat down. its like the padding only better quality. some people leave it out because they dont care how the inside of the car sounds and it save syou a few pounds.

Oh ok cool.
Well it looks like on mine that the padding is glued to the carpet. If I can find a good store that has precut carpet with the padding then I will purchase it ASAP. Need to get this done soon.

FYI, I've got an ACC carpet. So far I have not had any fading problems that others have had. It comes with the jute padding on the back. It's not as thick as the original padding but does its purpose. The molding was dead on too! Only a couple of things had to be done. I had to cut open the center area a little to make it fit. And I also had to trim the edges down before putting the sills down. I'm assuming that they are made this way for the different tolerances of each vehicle. (In other words, every car will fit differently so they give a little more on the edges & center.) Others complain about this, but to me, I think its a smart way to sell it. Just my opinion. Good luck!

My car was just as nasty when I took my interior apart. But after new carpet, seats, headliner and door panels it's almost like a new car. I still have to get a better center console though.

I guess that's pretty normal after so many years of use and abuse.

thats the ac1 carpet someone posted. it looks used to me, check out the orange crap on the drivers side. then again they say the carpet you get may or may not look like that.

ACC has a hell of a good reputation and I know the carpet set I got from A1 was brand new.

BTW, what do I do with these nasty door panels? I can clean the carpet up, but the cardboard underneath is falling apart and coming off the upper black trim. Looks like its unrepairable.

You can make new panels out of alot of different stuff, that dark brown hard packed backing board they use for cabents are reall good to make them out of. Just go to home depot or simlar and walk around you will find something that will work.

Ummmm this 1A joker company doesnt have precut carpet anymore (said that their manufacturer doesnt have them anymore).

I just bought some from http://www.salesco.com. 300 bucks precut for both passenger and rear cargo.

Look at this nasty carpet. Looked clean when in the car. Take it out and OMG its bad. New carpet on the way.

BTW I bought new carpet from Salesco. The didnt ship it out until TODAY (10 days later). It took them more than a day to reply to my message about the order status. I believe it is because they forgot to ship and my status "reminded" them.

Needless to say I wont buy from them again (and i am about to redo the interior in my truck).

I am in the process of redoing my interior. My biggest problem was finding all the different size torx bits in my toolbox, lol. For door panels you could do like me and make a custom set. I took the original board and added some 3-d flames and a bowtie and wrapped them in tweed to go along with my tweeded dash,console,guage cluster,sail panels...List goes on and on. All in all it took about 3 hours per door panel to remove strip cut out the 3-d forms glue them and wrap in tweed. But def. well worth it.

Man that carpet does not look right.It don't even have the plastic pads on the drivers side.Do all carpets come like that? Thing about doing mine but if its like that not going to do it.

I would have preferred the pads as well (in fact they told me it would have them). I want new floormats anway so I dont care.

This kit was ALSO supposed to include the rear section, but it doesnt (about half of it.... besides its TWO separate pieces). So I wont be buying from this company again. mostly because they shipped it out 10 days late.

I took a lot of pics of the way it was before, so I dont think it will be too hard to trim. BUT they probably will be sending me back some cash.

Wow you sure thats not for a 2nd gen car? I doesn't look like it fits right. Look at my pictures on my cardomain site, my replacement was an exact match to the orginal. Had to trim for the shifter under the console but thats because they are all pre cut for manual transmissions, since the hole is smaller for those. They started and stoped in the same position as the orginals.

Well they did have the center console cut somewhat accurately (had to trim in front of the console under the dash so that the carpet would slide in). The rest is just beyond me. I mean it looks liek there is a foot extra of carpet on each side of the car. The rear is extended an extra 4 feet. Under the dash maybe .5 a foot.

Salseco finally got back in touch with me. They said they sent me the carpet for a 4th gen fbody. Supposedly completely different floor designs.
