dual or triple A-pillar guage pod?Visibilty problems?
Im not sure if this belongs in this section but if the mods can move this to the correct section it would be greatly appreciated....
Heres my question,to the people that own a triple autometer a-pillar guage pod,is there any visibilty problems???Lights to bright at night from autometer guages?cant see from the left where the a pillar is??I dont want to get a 3 guage pillar if its going to be annoying on long trips or will hurt the eyes when they are on at night...
Also what does everyone think??? 2 or 3 guage a pillar set up??Is the 3 guage pillar to "import"???So far,i ordered autometer phantom guages that consist of water temp ,oil pressure and a trans temp...Now its time to buy the guage pod....If i do get the dual pod,the other guage, ill find a spot for in the dash...I just dont want any visibilty or hurting the eyes at night All and any info will be greatly appreciated....

i got the triple piller, it doesnt get in the way at all. mine doesnt sit in the same spot as most peoples since it is custom fiberglass for the new dash. but none the less, they really dont seem that big once its in the car and your driving.

Just wire the gauges up to the dimmer.... My 3 pillar doesnt bother me at all, but at night, I dont like it really bright, so I dim them. Autometer Sport Comps

They never seem like they are at all in the way. Mine don't seem like they glow as much as my dash, so again, no problem there either.
I have a double pod and a single pod together and they look exactly like a triple pod. For guages in the pod I have electrical z-series trans temp, oil temp, and woltometer autometer guages. On the left of my speedometer I have mechanical water temp and oil temp guages customized to look like my dash gauges.
Here's a pic:

Put the tach where I have mine. It's out of the way and looks great. The biggest problem with adding a tach to my car was that it couldn't be all that big. Autometer Monster tachs are too big to be mounted on the left of the dash due to the angle the windshield is at. I found that the best tach to mount was an autogage 3 3/4" tach. They make 3 types: one with a shift light on the face, one with a shift light on the outside of the dial, and one without a shift light. I own the one with the light on the face. The face is the same size as my other larger guages and it looks great at night with my dash. Anyway, it's just an idea.
