OK need opinions on what material will look best to cover new sub box...

I have this posted in the car audio as well, but I also need some looks opinions....what do you guys think will look best!

Ok this new one is only half way there. I want to finish it with a fiberglass top when I get the new subs. The area for the subs will be domed and a center section with some kind of lighted display. Hense the inverted subs, for now! Not enough room w/o the domed top! Once finished the box will be gloss black! Subs will face up. Going to set up the new amps in the back seat backs!

I had to rush my build to get it ready for a show... Won "Best Interior" at the Southern Trans Am Regional Show in Fort Walton Beach, so it could not have hurt me too bad! Due to my show schedual, the set up may remain for a few months while I get the new amps and subs staightened out. (getting some other seat backs to butcher and perfect then swap on my covers!)

The box ended up sitting a bit high...fit perfect w/o the carpet on it! Oh well, so I have some minor trimming ahead this week. So the existing covering has to come off for the trim... Not too sure I like the top covered in the ACC matching carpet. I had hopes it would match my ACC carpet perfect, but its a bit off. I ordered all the carpet at the same time, but I guess you get what you pay for.

So for the time being, till I get a chance to finish it completely... *Should I swap the box over to a black naugasoft cover, (can fit it better, will glue, does not matter if it matches the carpet since it is vinyl...should match the t-top bag fairly well)
*Stick with the ACC, (close material match, but does not really fit tight enough will not glue down...has staples around he edges, so I can't show the box up at all to show off the tool storage!)
*Go to a black sub box material all over (will not match the ACC carpet, but it will fit tighter, will glue down...no staples to hold it in place!)

I was leaning to the black naugasoft, but I'm afraid I will make everything look to busy...black plastic panels, with red hampton vinyl, reg carpet, then the black vinyl. I have matching Hampton red, but I think that will be way overkill with the red!

So what do you guys think will look the best for now?

Oh a link would be nice....

The backsides of those subs are horridly plain and the amp being exposed in the middle of the box like that... ugh! Concentrate on what you know will look good in the end and leave well enough alone for the temp setup you've got going right now. Even with LEATHER, what you've got will not improve enough to justify more work to it.

Seriously, if you had that box in your car at any car audio competition, you would lose points for the install, not gain any. I know that in the end you will end up with something worthy of the Red RAIF heritage, but for now leave well enough alone on the temp setup and keep working on the ultra-cool stuff you've got planned.

BTW, my vote for what you should put in there for the final product would include matching Hampton Vinyl with red piping on the box edges and/or around the sub surrounds.

No I agree totally with you. I stress and fretted putting the system together like this. But...I had to do something to permenantly store the tools though for this show season. I was not going to lug 50# of tools in and out of the backseat anymoer. Just asking for someone to steal them at a show!

The subs suck...top and bottom look so blah! Hense the speaker grill cover in teh old set up. At least being black they match....I for one hate inverted subs totally, but the space made it necessary. The amp is really too cluttered there...

But overall it a a more finished look then what I did have...though it is hardly finished for me!

I was just hoping to get some feedback on what might help it look a bit less blah! I ahve to take the thing out this weekend for some fitment tweaking, so it will be out anyway the covering will be partially removed anyway...so no biggy to try to improve it a bit...

Audiobahn is what I'm planning to go with very soon!

Awww come on no one else has an opinion....you have got to be kidding me... I ask for opinions and I get nothing. I bet if I would have posted asking for nothing I would have a slew of responces!

All joking aside...I wanted to get something going this weekend. I ahve all materials preset so I can go any way...

black "fluffy" box carpet...looks like real carpet...
black nauga soft...
red hampton vinyl...
or redoing the ACC to fit better!

If ACC is the popular choice that how should I tack it down...its not glueing down since it has a plastic backing...I ahve staples in it and hate to leave it that way!
