Looking At Buying A Third Gen

Hi gang, as stated in the title, Im looking at buying a third gen. I've always liked them, but I ended up getting a 5.0 fox body mustang a few years back. I still have the mustang, and its a fun car to drive. But im looking to try something a little different than the same old thing, and there's not many third gen cars on the road here. What I would like to do is something along the lines of a restomod. The usual, freshen up the paint & body, warmed over small block, maybe polish up a set of the 16" IROC wheels.
Anyway, enough of the jibber-jabber. Im hoping you guys could tell me some of the spots to look for hidden rust and other trouble spots on these cars. I dont mind doing some body work. I've tried the search function and didn't find what I was looking for.
There's a car I've found locally, and I saw that the rear wheel wells are a bit bubbled out, but at a quick glimpse thats all I could see.
It looks to be a 85 Z28. Maroon w/ silver gfx, Grey Interior, T-top, Auto trans, 15" aluminum Z wheels. Im not quite sure what it has for a 305, if its Carb, TBI or TPI. Im hoping to talk to the owner soon.
So, if you guys could point me in the right direction on where to look, that would be great.
Thanks

I know where there is a pretty cherry one owner 86 IROC 350 automatic fairly loaded here in texas. The guy is askin 2500 USD. I think it has somethin like 126k miles. Feels pretty solid. All the elctronics worked when i saw it a few months ago. The paint has thinned on the roof. White car, tan cloth interior. Very intact. msg me if you're interested.

Unfortunately, its a bit too far away for me. I'll be looking towards the Maritime provinces of Canada (NB, NS, PEI) as soon as I sell my Capri. Once that is gone, I can have room for a third gen. Thanks for the heads up though.
