An idea for painting my camaro
Hey, I have been thinking about a new paint for my car
Currently its peeling and such, the stock color is Dark Teal
I have been toying an idea around in my head which is this:
Base black on the car..and then over it a translucent red that you cant really see without light shining on the car, making it seem almost like the paint is on fire.
Think the pearl white/blue only black/red
What do all of you think about this?
It is either this idea or going back to stock for me.

Heh, its a work in progress.
If it comes out to be beyond my wanted limits I will jsut stick with stock.
I don't want to leave my Daytona hood off the car -too- long..and its only going on when I am getting ready to paint it.

candy red over black equals black, the candy will not show at all, no matter how much light shines on it...
if you want red to show under light over black you have to go with red flake or pearl, no candy needed.
no idea on what you mean with the fire....

Re: An idea for painting my camaro
I say go for it, just get it done right. That's actually very similiar to the paint scheme I was going to use for mine. I was going to have black base and then do rally stripes and the gfx in a clear with red flake. Unfortunately I don't have the right spray gun to shoot the flake on and have it look nice(tried it once and got tiger stripes on another project car) and I don't have the $$ to pay someone to do it. I decided to do black base and the gfx in candy red instead. Maybe someday I'll go back and get it done with the flake all over. But I'm getting off topic here. Definitely go for it, I think it will look really great.
