Can I Use Generic Weatherstripping from Napa/Autozone For My Doors

Can I use the weatherstripping that Napa, Autozone, and Advanced sells for our cars for my door seals or do I have to buy the gm kit.(way to expensive when I have to get a whole new exhaust too) Same for the t-top seals. I think its my t-tops that are leaking. The water drips from where the t-top headliner is suposed to be right above the rearview mirror.( I don't have the headliner yet). The t-top seals them selves are fine. But what else is up ther that can leak?

the factory seals have molded ends that are unique to the car, you need to get the proper ones, look around, buying direct from gm will be costly, there are kits from, 1aauto and other companies that are quite affordable

I've used the generic stuff before...once. And that was 1 time too many. It usually fits okay, but it's too thick. It makes the doors hard to shut after you re-adjust to get all the gaps right. GM stuff is way too high. I've heard some good things about soff seal's products. I'm going to try their stuff on my car.
