Bushing (need help)
ok, so the only thing holding my car at maaco is that i need new bushings for the top doors, does anyone have a link or know where i can find some for a decent price?.. they already fixed the bottom hinges so i only need them for the top and i don't want to buy an entire kit just to use half of it..

junkyard here only has 1 camaro in it, and there's pretty m uch nothing left but little bits and pieces.. i'ts like just the body sitting there... the car's in maaco right now and all they need is to find (or fab up) some bushings and they car can be sent in for paint.. so time if sort of the essence right now... i did alotta serching eailer and all i can find is sets for the lower hinges, and i just need the upper driver and passanger side..

yea see, they already bought the kit for the lower hinges.. so it's kinda pointless to buy the kit.. i'ma have left overs with the bottom.. i wish they would of called because someone on here told me about a kit that top-downsloutions sold, and we were going to buy that and have them put it on.. now idk what to do

you could probably get it out and put some washers in the old one.....tell them to drill it out and use a bolt

Re: Bushing (need help)
alright.. well maaco just pretty mcuh said they'd see what they could do.. they blame my car being in there for 2 weeks and going now for this reason.. how hard is it to fix this?.. i've never messed with hinges and have no idea what it takes to fix it.. all i know is they said if i could find a kit.. or just find the bushings period i'd be set...

Re: Bushing (need help)
if you have an autozone or advance auto parts store locally, you can find in the HELP! section an assortment of bushings in one package for about $4.
That should have the size bushings you need.

Here's what I can do; I have sold just the upper bushings and pins by deleting the lower pins and bushings from a kit. It isn't much of a savings since I just reduse the price by my cost for the lower pins and bushings. It does save you having an extra set of lower pins and bushings that you don't need.

Re: Bushing (need help)
Pretty sure all thirdgen's have a 'rivet'-style top hinge. You can drill them out and use the 'oversize' bushings with a normal pin -- takes a little effort and wouldn't be as durable, but it works.
