Evoluzione panel joint ideas

Getting back to my Evoluzione project. I have a butt joint where the front fender is supposed to mold into the rocker. I had to cut this apart when I installed my vertical doors. Seems I should keep this removable for service. My first thought was finishing the edges and with a bracket behind the rocker have 3 or 4 visible dzus 1/4 turn fasteners visible on each side. Anybody got any better ideas?

Pics of what your talking about? But it sounds similar to what I've seen on a Pro Street 55 Chevy. The rear tires were tucked so high up, even when jacked up, the tops of the tires were still in the fenders.

So he made part of the side of the quarter removable.

I think you should keep it smooth. I know what your saying but the only reason I can think of to service it would be for the antenna. Unless you get hit.......

I'm worried about servicing the lift struts hinge adjustments.

Re: Evoluzione panel joint ideas

I like that idea. Simple L-brackets behind the panel and I'd be able to adjust the alignment easily.

Hope this was what you had in mind. I'm happy with it anyway.

Very nice. You should do the same thing to the rear quarter part. Mine cracked back their from jacking up the car stressed this point over a period of time and cracked the part that you mold together. What you done with the front part would look nice bark there and match the front.

Re: Evoluzione panel joint ideas

Man, you don't want me to ever finish this car!

My passenger side split along the rear of the rocker I thought because I bumped my hoist backing in without mirrors. The LH side I noticed 2 nights ago a tiny hairline crack. I was thinking I had too much material in the joint and was going to redo it. Based on your input I'll add flanging it the same as the front to my list. Thanks for the input.

Nope, never finished. Even when everyone thinks it's done, back in the garage we go. Also the longer it takes everyone to finish theirs the more rare mine is complete.
