DOORS WILL NOT CLOSE

what's up everyone,
My name is Blake, just got a 89RS convert. 305tbi with 700r4 trans..
anyway, so my niece was outside playing in my car, she pushed the latches in on the side of both doors. After that the door would not close. I tried all of the following;

- using the key to unlock the door
- took off door pannel, the inner and outside door handle all function just fine
- checked the electric locks, they lock the door fine

from what I can see the the latches on both doors just seem to be stuck. the latch will not open to allow the **** on the door jamb to fit. how do I fix this?

I can post pix/video if you need them
thanx n advanced

I had the same problem, I just got a flat head screwdriver and popped them back out. But mines doesnt have electric locks so I dunno if that makes any difference, and make sure the car is unlock before you try to pop them back out.

Re: DOORS WILL NOT CLOSE

Have you tried holding up on the handle and then push the latch with your thumb or something? That's always worked for me.

you where able to get them out?! well yes, the locks are electric but from what I see the latch is all mechanical. I tried the same thing, I didnt want to force it and break my latch. should I just say F it, n do it anyway?

Might want to toss a little white grease on the door striker latches too.It'll help keep them from sticking.

Re: DOORS WILL NOT CLOSE

I know this is a gravedig but I thought I'd bump it to keep it current in the search results.. my dumb*** self did the same thing to my passenger door and then after I couldn't figure it out.. to my driver's door. Thankfully I have my laptop handy since I'm setting up EBL Flash.. helpful thread
