Re: Guess My Weight!

Not a weight expert, but 2950-3250?

Head to a local scrap yard and use their scale.

Re: Guess My Weight!

Somewhere around 3100ish... My Formula (5.7 auto) weighed in at 3290, with weight reduction being no spare tire, Fiberglass wrap around spoiler, Washer fluid container delete, Aluminum heads, and stock al driveshaft... But then I added sub-frame connectors, and heavy leather power 4th gen seats. But then again, for what I have read and compared to, my formula was on the lighter side.

My goal is to be around 3150... I am going to get an Aluminum powerbulge hood, lighter seats, aluminum front bumper, Lighter wheels, Delete the AC, and drill some holes and lighten my doors.

Re: Guess My Weight!

build sheet said i was 3250 out of the factory door, ive easily taken 100lbs off the nose of the car it sits up a full 2" from where it was, im actually contemplating some 18" rims to compensate(i dont want to lower it) then at least 50 from the interior(probably more just the seats should weigh dam near that)... i did add some weight to the rear with the rear and LCAs... my car does not have wonder bar or any chassis braces either, if im over 3100 ill be pissed

Re: Guess My Weight!

You may have to lower it anyway. Spring rates get funny when you take a lot of weight out.
Real weight of your car was around 3500# or so. It probably weighs around 3050# plus now more or less depending on gas, tools ect.
I really doubt it's less then 3000

BTW, there is nothing light about 4th gen wheels

Re: Guess My Weight!

so your saying the build sheet is off by 250lbs??
the 4th gen wheels are def lighter then the stock ones i had... seeing how i had a base firebird with 15s... pick one of those up then pick up the new ones... you easily can feel the difference, but i did not pick them for weight i traded my 3rdgens for them even up they look alot better and clear the LS1 brakes...
i wonder if 6cyl front springs would drop the front a little... i know they would help in a straight line launch
