Will a cheap rental sprayer do for primer?
I want to prep my car for paint and spray a high fill primer that will no doubt be a two part epoxy. Will a Home Depot rental sprayer to the trick? After all, as long as I get enough on it and block sand it anyway, will it matter if I am using the latest top flight sprayer system?
If this is a good idea, what should I be looking for in a spray, compressor etc?

the equipment you use can be as critical as surface prep, for instance ,if you are getting water in the paint stream from condensation in the compressor tank you may as well be using rustoleum spray cans.the number one reason peoples paint jobs sometimes turn out crap is they dont take the time to do careful body work.also if youre going to use a 2 stage paint be advised it wont stay ,it wont hold up to sunshine PERIOD.i prefer a solvent based single stage paint like acrylic enamel, why? because it stays where i spray it nuff said EXCEPT if youre in calif. they wont sell you anything but water paint so youre screwed there to sum up #1a good compressor with a water seperator/filter #2be sure to use the proper spray gun for the paint youre gonna use(there IS a diffrence)#3 clean, clean, clean. i cant stress enough how important it is to paint in a dust/kid/bug free environment. if you take your time and do all you can do to do it right you will be pleased with all that hard work and BS
