And I was told one that buying a quick pic gives me a chance to win the lotto. lol!
Iroc's came in 15's. Obviously not popular or familiar with people who have a limited knowledge of these cars.

Re: True Iroc Rims?
88+. Sport coupe and IROC models with 15-inch wheels had P215/65R15 blackwalls (RPO QYZ). IROC models with the optional 16-inch wheels had P245/50VR16 blackwalls. The above from the White Book.
Your 87 "IROC" should have 16's. Check my vbGarage (garage icon next to my online status for a pic of the 16's your car would have as an IROC) Your RPO should be B4Z.

Re: True Iroc Rims?
Thats not even a Z from the pics, looks like an SC. Wrong taillights, steering wheel etc. But on a 20 year old car, lots of stuff gets replaced.

Re: True Iroc Rims?
i dont pay the dmv any money. i pay 1000 a year in insurance but i get max coverage, i cant get any better coverage. for a 1000 year im not really complaining. well thanks guys i had another questions sense your all here. My engine im told was orginaly fuel injected cause it had a map sensor in it. The guy converted it obviously cause i have a carb on it now, but im told i still have dead fuel injected lines running to it. in the pictures of my engine does it look like the guy is right? the map sensor is in the top left conner of this picture

Re: True Iroc Rims?
Hello All!!
Just to add a little fuel to the fire here, if you have a 1988 sales brouchure, check the cover picture, it shows a Red IROC-Z with the 15 inch Z-28 wheel, and also lists the 15 inch wheels as standard wheels on the IROC-Z, as the 16 inch double lined wheels were an option!!
1985 -1987 IROC-Z's came with the 16 inch wheel as part of the IROC-Z package, but in 1988 the wheels were optional, so........ in 1988 it seems that you could have an IROC-Z with the Z-28 wheel!!
Check out the sales brochure!!!

That is most likely a stock LG4 ( computer controlled carb engine ) that someone threw an Edelbrock carb on.

Hello yujufrazer!!
You were asking about the rims!!
You know they do come off!!
All kidding aside, if your car is actually a real 1987 IROC-Z, and was all stock original, you would have a different wheel, than what you have now!!
So the answer to your question is yes, and no, depending on the year!!

Re: True Iroc Rims?
well i can tell they arnt real rims, but the vin says it is a iroc, so thats good enough for me. even if all the parts are SC lol. im just wishing people would come buy all the parts already. i get a million calls a week asking about prices and **** but no one ever comes to look when they say they will.
I'm about to put them on ebay, people keep telling me to cause ill make more money and people will buy them faster. I just dont wanna lug the parts around, cause the hood is like 80lbs and its made out of steel. But it just might come to that, cause i just found out that the city of port huron, has a law agenst working on cars in your yard.

Re: True Iroc Rims?
The car is not an IROC-Z. The VIN decodes as a Sport Coupe/IROC because it is the same base platform. It's stating that it is one or the other. The body code is 1FP87 and is used by both models.
The rims are Z28 rims from 1982-1987, 1988 IROC-Z base, 1989-92 RS with 15" rims. The IROC-Z had 16" rims standard in 1985-1987, optional in 1988-90.
The taillights are not correct for the sport coupe. They are Z28 taillights from 1982-1984 or for the RS from 1987-1990. The Sport Coupe had solid color taillights.
The steering wheel is from a Sport Coupe, not a Z28
The front and rear bumper cover is Sport Coupe, not a Z28 and not an IROC-Z. The hood is also sport coupe as is the body without the ground effects.
In response to the MAF vs MAP, you both are correct, however, I believe the initial response to the fuel injected cars being MAF was in relation to the fact that the car in question is an 87, so MAF would have been in place at that time, not MAP

Re: True Iroc Rims?
Your car is NOT a IROC. You prolly arent selling any parts because you list them as IROC parts and when people see there not IROC parts, they go the other way. Try listing them as camaro or SC parts and then you might sell some of them.

Re: True Iroc Rims?
Concerning the rims, the gold was a original color as were silver. I have the gold on my 89 RS.
Hey if your vin is Iroc then its a Iroc! Lots of parts must have been replaced.
And when It comes to parting a car out, people always say they will come look and never do, just depending on distance to drive. CL sometimes is not always the best way to advertise. Ebay is not that great eather. I have a 91 RS Arizona clean no rust with lots of parts for sale and I have not sold anything yet. But I am holding many Items for a guy that bought a nice camaro and just working to get the motor at its best! Good luck, wish you the best!

Re: True Iroc Rims?
ypur VIN is misleading you. all it means is that engine was available on an iroc, so it would be possible to have an IROC with that VIN
your car is NOT an IROC. Unless somebody changed out the interior, bumper, fenders, doors and steering wheel in an attempt to make a collectors car into a run of the mill base model
if you still think that's the case, we can;t help you here
