Painted t-tops

So, I picked up a parts car awhile back, and it had a set of t-tops. I figured I'd just toss them cause of the condition, but then I decided I'd do something a little different.
I know it's been done, but haven't seen to many around (even after searching around here).
So I'm attempting to give them a paint job. Painting them the same colour as the car. I still have some paint left over to do the job.
This will give me 2 sets of tops. One regular, and one set colour matched to give it a different look.

Here's what I'm starting out with...

finished product. Not perfect, but it gives me an idea of what it looks like.

Re: Painted t-tops

IMO, t-tops always look better than a hard top, so I'm not a fan of the looks...
But it looks like you did a good job, and if your happy with them that's what counts.

oh, I agree. I love the look of t-tops. But this way, I get the option of either. Plus I'm hoping it'll keep the car a little cooler sitting in the sun (when I keep the tops on). But if I ever get bored of the look, I have the other set to put back on.

Re: Painted t-tops

Whadda ya think about painting the middle bar red too? I think it would look cool, even with the tinted tops on.

Thought about it... might do it one day... I just don't know how it would look with my tinted tops.

Looks good. Did you use glass tops or plexi-glass?
