How to paint high rise spoiler
So I'm finally ready to spray and I'm trying to figure out how to set this thing up so I can spray the whole thing. Any advice from you guys who have painted one of these before. I need to be able to get under it to spray the bottom and also get a nice coat on top. I don't really wanna hang it upside down cause I'm spraying metallic. The only thing I can think is building something with two elevated pieces to allow easy acces to get in between the bottom. I can't just set it on something.

Hang it running a wire on each side (two wires total). Have each side run from the booths floor to the bottom outside stud. Wrap around the bottom stud to the top stud and around that stud (think safety wire technic). From top stud to ceiling. The trick is to keep the wires tight so it will not swing during painting process(or fall). You can hang it verticle or horizontal. Personal preference and because its metalic I would go horizontal.
If I remember I will get you a Winzer part number for the wire. Its basically a bailing wire on a 100ft+ roll.

I use angle bracket like most people use for garage door tracks and openers. It's fairly cheap and can be used over and over. I used it to hold nearly every piece of a 2012 Harley to put pearl white on it. And yes I'd hang it as it will sit on the car. Better hurry, the Gathering is comming up soon. LOL

Re: How to paint high rise spoiler
Not to be a douche, but if it is the 91-92 Z28 F50-style, it is a wing, not a spoiler. A spoiler 'spoils' the airflow, while any surface that has air flow over and under it is a wing...

..anyways Thanks to the guys that posted to try and help. I think I'm going with something kinda like Danny suggested. I got some thick pieces of steel that I'm gonna screw into a table and let it sit on those. Thank you for the idea. I'll post a pic when I get it set up (hopefully tonight).

I'm sure using wire top and bottom works very well but mine was also done with wire by a professional but only from the top. , stripes and all.
( mine is not metallic but has red pearl in it )

Unfortunately for you, you are being a douche. Calling something by what the manufacuter labeled it 22 years ago isn't really a debate topic, nor a reason for you to get in my thread just to be a douche. The style is actually from the 69' Trans Am's spoiler. But if you are going for the Ferrari reference it would be an F40 style which preceded the F50 and brought this style to the "modern" age in the 80's.

Thanks Ron, those stripes look great. I do have some wire that I'm using for some of the GFX pieces so I will keep that in mind if I have to.
Lol, sorry I just get sick of people on here jumpin into threads to say something stupid, but whatever.

Re: How to paint high rise spoiler
For future reference this is what I ended up doing. Worked out pretty well. Just some thick 1/32 or so steel bracing from the lumber section screwed into a table. Would have been a lot better if I didn't have so much stuff on the table, but room was a bit limited to keep everything upright to get the pearl to sit right.

Re: How to paint high rise spoiler
Hey, I like that a lot. I'm going to use that when I repaint my 92 z28 and it's rear spoiler, wing, tail....
thanks for sharing what you did!
